Jonna Doolittle Hoppes "Jimmy Doolittle Raid" presentation at Historic Flight Foundation

Jonna Doolittle Hoppes speaks with insight into the personality and human side of her Grandfather, Medal of Honor winner and aviation pioneer, General Jimmy Doolittle at the Historic Flight Foundation's "B-25 Grumpy Welcome Reception". Her new book "Calculated Risk" illustrates the importance of recording history for future generations. This clip includes original film footage of the crews on the historic "Doolittle Raid" of WWII, which proved to the US and the Japanese Empire that America could and would strike back. The special event was attended by over 200 people to welcome "Grumpy" the worlds oldest B-25 bomber back to the United States and into the Historic Flight Foundation collection.

Jimmy Doolittle was the Winner of the World High speed record Thompson Trophy Race, Harmon Trophy, Mackay Trophy, Schneider Cup, the famous Bendix Trophy Race, first to do an outside loop, developer of blind instrument flying, developed Aeronautical Engineering program at MIT, first cross- county flight, Tokyo Raid, Commander of 8th, 12th and 15th US Air force and many more accomplishments that can be found in "Calculated Risk."
