I don't know who he was, but a gentleman spoke at the public budget hearing and suggested this would happen. The beginning of the reduction of services due to pressure from the public to maintain or reduce the tax level. Our town is headed down the drain because too many people are complaining and not carrying their own weight in this community.

The town is beginning to reduce services in order to balance the budget. However, the town council does not realize that the correct method to balance a budget is to reduce spending. The Town Engineer is paid $76,015.84 and is not even a Licensed Professional Engineer and the Fire Chief is paid $59,763.08 but does not the credentials required. These salaries are according to the 2011-2012 Annual Report. Tax Dollars are being paid to individuals who are not qualified for the position. The credentials were supposed to be part of their condition of employment. Now look at our Police Chief's salary of $70,455.21 and Detective McAllister receives $$65,244.59 both individuals retired years ago and were rehired the same day with the same salary they retired with. Town Manager's salary is $89,729.89. These individuals have excessive salaries. Why not send these individuals home during the week, without pay, instead of reducing our services.
