OMG! Lisbon needs to figure out how to keep him as our town manager, if only fo a couple years. His grasp of how a town is supposed to run is superb. The TC seemed to be dumbfounded by his ideas. It was like watching a scientist awe children with baking soda and vinegar. So simple, but baffled them. If put in place, and executed, the Time Warner point alone would've put an estimated $400k in the coffers during the "gray years" with Eldridge. Please Lisbon. FIND A WAY TO KEEP HIM!
Mr. Olmstead’s presentation detailed the grim picture into the finances for our town. A good part of the reason for this was the elimination of our elected Budget Advisory Committee. The Town Council replaced the Budget Advisory Committee with a Finance Committee whom was handpicked by the council. Of the seven members, five are former councilors: Michael Bowie, Lori Pomelow, Charles Smith, Norma Wells and Fern LaRochelle. Two of these members the people tried to Recall: Michael Bowie and Norma Well. These are the same individuals that created this situation in the first place. This is a prime example of the “Good Old Boys” network in action.
