Questions From A Lisbon Citizen

1. Does a police car have a  right to "perch" on a business driveway/parking lot to watch on coming  traffic?
What is the standard of practice?
Does the police have to ask the property owner permission?
Does the property have to ask the " perched' police car not to do this?
Does the owner feel intimated if they deny permission?

2. Why is the new manager the best manager over the other candidates?

Who they may be??!!

Three Cruisers just sittin' there.
Why so many cruisers?
Plus two, one at the high and Sugg Schools and one at LES during school hours. Just sittin' there! Yet Chief Brooks says he NEEDS two more?

It is perfectly legal for Police to use radar from private property. There is no regulations against it. They do not need to ask for permission. However if there is no trespassing signs or they have been asked by the property owner not to park there then they would be subject to trespassing laws. At that point you would want to call the Chief. If that does not resolve the issue call the county or state police.

My question is, and I'm serious, I want to know why can't they take their own cars to and from the schools, or be dropped off by the officer on duty? Is there some reason they need the vehicle? I mean, other than to get back and forth from the station?

Thanks,
