Sorry this recap is
late. The following is a summary of what
took place at Tuesday night’s Town Council meeting:
Under Public Hearings – Both
the town and the school presented their budgets. This was followed by a Public Hearing on
each. There were approximately 50
individuals in attendance. There were
numerous questions asked and for the most part answered. The bottom line is that the Municipal budget
requires a tax increase and the school budget does not.
Under Council Orders,
Resolutions, & Ordinances – The following items were approved by a vote of
7-0:
1.
Ch. 70 Zoning Map & Sec. 70-531 Table of
Land Uses.
2.
Ch. 2
Administrative Div. 2 Finance Committee.
3.
Proclamation –
Municipal Clerk’s Week.
4.
Bulletproof Vest
Partnership Grant Application.
5.
Tax Acquired
Property.
6.
Sewer Commitment.
The following items were
tabled:
1.
Health Insurance.
2.
Dental Insurance.
The following items were
approved by a vote of 5-2 with Councilors Garrison and Lunt voting no:
1.
School Warrant
Articles.
2.

contributions to school budget.
This concludes the recap.
