When British citizens Kirstie Trup and Katie Gee travelled to the east African island of Zanzibar to help underprivileged children, they never thought this would happen…

The two Londoners were just 18 years-old when they made the trip to Africa in 2013. Their visit to Zanzibar happened to coincide with Ramadan, and the girls were told to keep a strict dress code and not wear anything that might identify them as Jewish.
The girls followed their instructions, but unfortunately, it didn’t matter.
