Community Partnerships Benefit Adult Education Students

Lewiston - Lewiston Adult Education, Bonney Staffing, WMCA and the Lewiston CareerCenter are partnering to provide an Office Certificate training program with a customer service focus.  The program will begin September 19th.  Participants will earn the state approved WorkReady credential.  In addition, participants will receive extensive training in the essential skills needed for an entry level position in an office setting including: keyboarding, data entry, MS Word, MS Excel, Email, calendar, office management tools, effective communication skills, and much more.   Participants will also have an opportunity to job shadow with a local employer.  Upon completion of the program, participants will have a guaranteed interview with Bonney Staffing.  Anyone interested in this program should contact Lewiston Adult Education at 795-4141.  Candidates will be scheduled to complete CASAS testing.  Orientations and interviews are currently scheduled for Tuesday, August 23 from 3-5 p.m. at Lewiston High School (156 East Avenue) or Wednesday, August 31 from 10-12 a.m. at B-Street (57 Birch Street).  To be accepted to the program, candidates need to provide proof of a high school diploma or equivalent, proficiency in math and reading through the CASAS assessment, and successfully complete the orientation and intake/interview.   In addition, participants will need to be able to show a six month work history and current work authorization.
