LISBON AREA UPDATE

Update: Heat Advisory In Effect July 3 and July 4th. - Lisbon PD is a cooling center

A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. The combinaton of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air-conditioned room...stay out of the sun...and check up on relatives and neighbors, especially oder adults who live alone, to make sure they are able to stay cool.
Should someone need a place to go for a bit to cool, the Lisbon Police Department is a designated cooling center.
Stay cool – stay hydrated – if you have young children and/or pets, don’t forget to check the back seat – if you have pets, do not leave them in the car without the air conditioning on; with the current outside temperature of 84^o F, in 10 minutes the inside of your car is 103 and within 30 minutes the inside temperature will climb to 118^oF.
