A 20-year-old Black Lives Matter supporter who happened to be biracial got into a heated discussion on Facebook – well-known for being the perfect venue for civil debate (sarcasm) – and ended up coming to the officer’s house and breaking in. The cop shot him, and the man was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Devastating, it’s the only way to describe what has happened in this country over the past few days.

There’s not much to say about the facts of the horrific goings on during the past few days because most of the facts are still not out. However, to this observer sitting safely in his office, the news about Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, Philando Castile in St Paul, and five dead Cops in Dallas is nothing short of sickening and I feel for all of their families.

A demonstration turned deadly in Dallas, Texas, and so far, five cops ended up murdered, and many others wounded. The sniper reportedly wanted to kill white people, especially, white cops.
The Reverend Jesse Jackson is of course not letting this crisis in Dallas go to waste. He’s blaming the shooting partly on Republican presumptive nominee Donald Trump.

A mob of up to 30 young Somali men paraded through one of Minneapolis’ more upscale neighborhoods last week, yelling disparaging comments and threats against homeowners.

A female resident of the neighborhood, obviously shaken in a TV interview, related how she was screamed at by a Somali man who threatened to kidnap and rape her.

When Deputy Katie Barnes responded to a call and entered the apartment stairwell, she didn’t expect to be greeted by an AK-47.

But there Mohammed Abdou Laghaoui with the weapon hand, and he opened fire, hitting her in the stomach.
Deputy Barnes parked her cruiser out of sight, and proceeded up the stairs. That’s when Mohammed appeared. Barnes had no hope of finding security when Mohammed opened fire, though she did back up and return fire.

After the mass murder in Orlando, liberals called for more gun control, and conservatives pointed out that people should be allowed to protect themselves especially in those types of situations.
Liberals would respond that “guns and alcohol don’t mix,” and that because of the chaos of the nightclub scene, having armed patrons would lead to a “Wild West” blood bath, with people shooting at each other at random.

Earlier this week four different gun control bills were predictably voted down in the Senate. Now, as Matt has reported, Senators will vote on yet another piece of legislation introduced by Maine Republican Susan Collins.
"The bipartisan 'Terrorist Firearms Prevention Act of 2016' would prevent people who are on the No Fly List or the Selectee List from purchasing firearms. If our government has determined that an individual is too dangerous to fly on an airplane, that person should not have the opportunity make a legal firearm purchase," Collins office released yesterday in a white paper. "Due process principles require that Americans denied their right to purchase a firearm under this provision have the opportunity to appeal this denial to a federal court."

A compromise bill is being proposed for a vote in Senate sometime in the near future, but Democrats are claiming Paul Ryan blocked vote on issue today in the House. They want those on the ‘no fly list’ to not be able to get guns. Due process? Not something they care about.

They want to claim it’s ‘for the children’, but they never actually pose any real solutions that would actually help ‘the children’. Would the no fly list ban do one blessed thing to stop the mass shootings in Chicago? Or any random mentally ill shooter? No. But he wins the Kabuki Theater drama award of the day:
