Where is Frank and The Moxie Store?

It would seem that you all have forgotten why there is a Moxie festival, you are all so busy taking credit for it.

Dotty Doo- what have YOU done to improve anything? How about cleaning and painting Frank's store? it is an embarrassment. Every year you have a complaint about how Frank has not been idolized, his Tshirts are the ONLY real moxie T shirts- we should kiss his feet, etc. move on Dotty Doo or contribute something positive yourself. Frank is a great guy- I don't hear him complaining how this weekend has grown into a number of family oriented events that could and do appeal to many- a great tribute to him and what he started.

It's obvious you do not own a business.
Frank owns two properties in Lisbon. that means real estate taxes on two properties, two electric and heating bills and two phone bills.
Plus personal property taxes on the store.
In spite of the store needing paint, the Moxie Store brings more people into Lisbon than anyone or anything else ever did.
Have you ever purchased anything from there? Or do you buy your "official" Moxie t-shirts from the town office?
A business needs income to meet expenses. As a non-business owner you would not know or understand that.

If here was NOT a Moxie store would there be a Moxie Festival!!!!
The CORE of this CONCEPT is Mr, Moxie! What has the town helped to " enhance the Aesthetics of this building" The economic development has given money to many businesses that have GONE BELLYUP ( But we can not talk about who they are).If Frank didn't exist would we be having this discussion.SO THE QUESTION IS ;What is the ESSENCE of this concept called Moxie????!!

What does Frank pay for REAL ESTATE TAX & BUSINESS TAX and what does he get in return besides the the annual bill??!!

as usual Dotty Doo, you make a lot of assumptions-which you believe to be correct- but guess what? they may not be---good idea anonymous re: using economic development $ to enhance the moxie store- that would show a little moxie-how much have you purchased from the moxie store Dotty Doo?

I have at least 6 Moxie t-shirts and usually purchase some for my great-grandchildren, every year.

I have made many purchases, and often buy a cold can of Moxie when stopping in to chat with Frank.

Can you say the same?

Whether a business accepts town money, loan or grant, or not is a personal decision. Frank would be criticized by people like you whatever he did.

The Moxie Store began as Kennebec Fruit Company over 100 years ago.

And now owned and run by the third generation, of the same family.

With NO assistance from the town of Lisbon and Lisbon Taxpayers?

How many businesses in Lisbon can make that statement?

Customers have had ice cream dished out by former Senator Olympia Snowe and Senator Susan Collins during the Moxie Festival. How many businesses can make that statement?
That is a testimony to Frank and
how he and The Moxie Store have put Lisbon on the map, in a POSITIVE WAY.

Make fun of me all you want. I'm a big girl, I can take it.
