Eagle Rising: Ray Stevens Blasts Obama in Song! (Ray Stevens - Mr. President - Mr. President)

By Onan Coca / 10 January 2014
Here is one of our favorite bits of satire from a master of the genre, Mr. Ray Stevens!
It may be just our personal opinion, but we think Mr. Stevens hits the nail on the head with his depiction of the President.
I’m not sure there has ever been a politician more ripe to be made fun of…and yet we’ve seen too little of it. It’s nice to see that some comedians still have the guts to mock our “leaders.”
 Mr. President,
We got record foreclosures, folks are losing their homes,
the banks got money but they won’t make loans,
the taxes are bringing small business to their knees,
and we owe our soul to the Red Chinese.
Mr. President, Mr. President, what are you going to do?
Well, I’m going to take off my coat and roll up my sleeves,
turn on the teleprompter and give another speech,
act real cool and talk real soft,
then go out and play another round of golf.
Throw a party at the White House and give a big show,
board Air Force One and away I go,
up to New York, take Michelle to a play,
shoot a few hoops and call it a day.
But Mr. President!
We got illegal aliens crossing our borders,
and drug lords committing mayhem and disorder,
states are going broke trying to pay their benefits,
bond markets in the toilet, job markets in the pits,
Mr. President, Mr. President, what are you going to do?
Now listen real close, hear what I say,
never let a good crisis slip away,
you got to look at things out of my window,
what’s bad for America is good for my agenda!
Mr. President, what are you going to do?
I’m going to take off my coat and roll up my sleeves,
turn on the teleprompter and give another speech,
act real cool and talk real soft,
then go out and play another round of golf.
Throw a party at the White House and give a big show,
board Air Force One and away I go,
to blame George Bush and his capitalist ways,
shoot a few hoops and call it a day.

A Happy, Healthy, Prosperous 2014 and beyond to Y’all!

Don't worry be Happy!!!

New Year's Prayer by Charlotte Anselmo
http://www.mamarocks.com/

Thank you Lord for giving me
The brand new year ahead
Help me live the way I should
As each new day I tread.

Give me gentle wisdom
That I might help a friend
Give me strength and courage
So a shoulder I might lend.

The year ahead is empty
Help me fill it with good things
Each new day filled with joy
And the happiness it brings.

Please give the leaders of our world
A courage born of peace
That they might lead us gently
And all the fighting cease.

Please give to all upon this earth
A heart that's filled with love
A gentle happy way to live
With Your blessings from above.

Grateful: A Love Song to the World

Musicians Nimo Patel and Daniel Nahmod brought together dozens of people from around the world to create this beautiful, heart-opening melody. Inspired by the 21-Day Gratitude Challenge, the song is a celebration of our spirit and all that is a blessing in life. For the 21 Days, over 11,000 participants from 118 countries learned that “gratefulness” is a habit cultivated consciously and a muscle built over time. As a famous Roman, Cicero, once said, “Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others.” This soul-stirring music video, created within a week by a team of volunteers, shines the light on all the small things that make up the beautiful fabric of our lives.

COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS OPEN: BRAD PAISLEY AND CARRIE UNDERWOOD MOCK OBAMACARE

COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS OPEN: BRAD PAISLEY AND CARRIE UNDERWOOD MOCK OBAMACARE --- Wednesday night's CMA (Country Music Association) awards opened up with a bang, incorporating Kenny Rogers, the Robertson family from "Duck Dynasty," and even a little Obamacare mockery. That's right, hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood had a special segment and even song mocking the failed health care rollout that featured the pair pretending to sign up for Obamacare and then crooning about the failure. It all started while the pair was singing a new version of "Why Can't We Be Friends" that faked feuds between some of country music's biggest stars (including Kenny Rogers) and Paisley stopping abruptly to complain about back pain. That's when Underwood suggested trying to sign up for Obamacare.

"I started signing up last Thursday and I'm almost done," she said with a fake smile. "Let's go go the website and get you signed up."

That elicited laughs from the crowd as the pair went and grabbed a computer.

"Why's it spinning?" Paisley asked.

"Oh, it does that," Underwood responded.

"Why's it smokin'?" Paisley continued.

"Umm, I don't know," Underwood said, looking concerned into the camera. "Maybe we should restart it."

From there they broke out into a spoof of George Straight's classic "Amarillo by Morning," instead singing "Obamacare by morning/ Why's this taking so long?/I'm going to end up with hemorrhoids/If I sit her 'til dawn." It continued from there, even taking a shot at the reports that only six people were able to sign up the first day.

But what country music segment would be complete without the South's first family: the Robertsons of the hit show "Duck Dynasty." After the Obamacare mockery the clan made a special appearance to present the night's first award:

Lisbon Senior Jenna Clifford Volunteers Internationally‏

LISBON HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR PROVIDES INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY SERVICE

Lisbon – During the summer months, most teenagers spend their time off from school working extra shifts at their places of employment, enjoying the beach, spending time with friends, and relaxing with their favorite pastime activity.  Over the summer, Jennifer Lynn Clifford, a member of the Lisbon High School Class of 2014, and a young adult Lisbon volunteer, embarked on a journey of passion, commitment and dedication by volunteering her summer in Ghana, Africa.

Jenna, participated in a youth trip through the Free the Children group.  Group members built a school along the coast in a small village of Asemkow,  a few hours from the capitol Accra, (population 800 people).  Jenna and other members of the group broke ground for a third school building.  Volunteers made and carried cement for the two standing buildings scheduled to open in September.  Students also worked on a bathroom and sanitation project, broadened their cultural horizons in the Ghanaian world, and joined young girls from the community on their water walks.   Students witnessed first-hand how much of an issue clean water is  in the region.

Volunteers witnessed children as young as three carrying water three times a day.   Jenna saved and worked toward bringing this trip to fruition with her own fundraising efforts over the past four years.  “ I wanted to strengthen education globally and by doing so I hope to increase an appreciation for education in my home community,” shared Jenna.  Jenna, is the daughter of Christie Clifford of Lisbon Falls and Dan Clifford of Sabattus.  FMI on more projects and events by Lisbon student visit us on Facebook at Community Resource News in Lisbon Schools or call 754.0021 or email mmillhime@lisbonschoolsme.org.

The Largest Army in the World Just Might be Yourself

Interesting slant on things
AMERICA'S HUNTERS ---
http://www.d21c.com/frecs/holdys/Hunter.gif
Pretty Amazing!
The world's largest army... America 's hunters!
I had never thought about
this...
hunter
A blogger added up the deer license sales in just a
handful of states and
arrived at a striking
conclusion:
http://www.poorwilliam.net/gif-ani/hunter_shooting_shotgun_lg_c

There were over 600,000 hunters
this season in the state of Wisconsin ..
Allow me to restate that number:
600,000
Over the last several months,
Wisconsin's hunters became the eighth largest army in
the world.
http://www.bucklakehuntingclub.com/treestand_hunter_hg_blksmall
More men under arms than in Iran .
More than France and Germany combined.
These men deployed to
the woods of a single American state, Wisconsin , to hunt with
firearms, and no one was killed.
http://www.sd84.k12.id.us/SMS/departments/Ross/images/hunting.g
That number pales in comparison to the 750,000 who hunted the woods of Pennsylvania and
Michigan's 700,000 hunters,
all of whom have now returned home safely.
Toss in a quarter million hunters
in West Virginia and it literally establishes the fact that the
hunters of those four states alone
would comprise the largest army in the world.
And then add in the total number of hunters in the other 46 states.
It's millions more.
The point?
America will forever be safe
from foreign invasion with that
kind of home-grown firepower.
Hunting...
it's not just a way to fill the freezer. It's a matter of national
security.
********************http://www.thehowardside.com/images/Photo%20Gp%201/huntingpic.g *******************
That's why all enemies,
foreign and domestic,
want to see us
disarmed.
Food for thought,
when next we consider gun control.
Overall it's true,
so if we disregard some assumptions that hunters
don't possess the same skills as soldiers, the question
would still remain...
What army of 2 million would want to face 30, 40, 50 million armed citizens???
(IF YOU AGREE, AS I DO, PASS IT ON, I FEEL GOOD THAT I HAVE AN ARMY OF MILLIONS WHO WOULD PROTECT OUR LAND AND I SURE DON'T WANT THE GOVERNMENT TAKING CONTROL OF THE POSSESSION OF FIREARMS)
http://www.electric-bass.org/GIFS/MaleFemaleHunters.gif
For the sake of our freedom,
don't ever allow gun control
or confiscation of guns.

This was the film that inspired Brasscheck‏ "Spin" by Brian Springer

I first saw this film back in the early
90s very late one night on a college
TV station.

It took me years in those pre-Internet
days to get my own copy.

No film has ever done a better job
of showing what goes on behind the
scenes at the broadcast news
networks. It's pretty surreal.

Video:

http://www.brasschecktv.com/page/2988.html

- Brasscheck

“Spin” by Brian SpringerOne of the most important films
of the last 25 years
Using the 1992 presidential election as his springboard, documentary
filmmaker Brian Springer captures the behind-the-scenes maneuverings of
politicians and newscasters in the early 1990s. Pat Robertson banters
about "homos," Al Gore learns how to avoid abortion questions, George
Bush talks to Larry King about halcyon -- all presuming they're off
camera. Composed of 100% unauthorized satellite footage, Spin is a
surreal expose of media-constructed reality.

Brian Springer

 Footage you were never
supposed to see

Artist Brian Springer spent a year scouring the airwaves with a satellite dish
grabbing back channel news feeds not intended for public consumption. The
result of his research is SPIN, one of the most insightful films ever made
about the mechanics of how television is used as a tool of social control to
distort and limit the American public’s perception of reality.

Take the time to watch it from beginning to end and you’ll never look at TV
reporting the same again. Tell your friends about it. This extraordinary film
released in the early 1990s is almost completely unknown. Hopefully, the
Internet will change that.

Note: We have posted excerpts of this film. You can find these excerpts by
going to the “Spin” section of Brasscheck TV.

WND: Truckers to Obama: Um, that's a big negatory, CONVOY 2013 Truckers roar to D.C. with impeachment movement

CW McCall Convoy

MOVIN' ON opening credits NBC 1974

‘The goal is to wake up the sleeping giant, the people of America’
author-image Michael Carl

In less than two weeks, thousands of truckers will descend on Washington, D.C., driving their big-rigs and calling for the restoration of a constitutional republic – but now their plan has taken a new twist: Their friends and families will simultaneously join other Americans rallying on overpasses across the nation for Obama’s impeachment.
The Truckers’ Ride for the Constitution movement has a new ally in their protest against what organizers say is corruption in government and a trashing of the Constitution. The group is teaming up with Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment to line the routes into Washington with flags during the Oct. 11-13 event.
Both Houses of Congress are tentatively scheduled to be in session Oct. 11.

Truckers Ride for the Constitution leader and organizer Zeeda Andrews, a country singer and former truck driver, said Overpasses Founder James Neighbors reached out to her, suggesting the two groups form an alliance. Neighbors said the partnership is a “natural” merger for a common cause.
“Thousands of truckers have seen us across America,” he said. “We’ve gotten emails from them, thanking us for waking them up. The biker ride in D.C. happened. Then, the next thing you know, the trucker thing did, and we got even more emails from truckers across the country, thanking us.”
He added, “We are going to be out on the overpasses and at truck stops, encouraging the truckers to head to D.C., to join in with the others. They, in exchange, are encouraging their families who are at home to join us on the overpasses.”
Read the details of Obama’s actions and how they don’t align with the Constitution, in “Impeachable Offenses,” by Aaron Klein and Brenda J. Elliott.

Facebook tries to shut truckers down
On Sept. 22, Facebook removed the truckers’ Facebook page, “Truckers to Shutdown America,” which had accumulated 86,000 “likes” within days of its launch.
“Political opponents attacked the Truckers to Shutdown America page within days, and they exploited a little known (to the public) feature on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter called ‘community standards’ flagging, which allows them to instantaneously shut down an account on these social media platforms,” the truckers group explained in a press release.
“[A]n administrator of the page offended someone by saying, ‘God bless you, and God bless America.”

Facebook headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif.
According to the group, radio talk-host Pete Santelli, of “The Pete Santelli Show,” has indicated that he “intends to take legal action against YouTube and Twitter on behalf of all truckers, their supporters, as well as other members of the public who are similarly harmed by these unconstitutional ‘community standards.’”
While the truckers’ group says it has made numerous attempts to appeal Facebook’s decision, the page remains unpublished.
Now the group is planning a special delivery to Facebook’s corporate headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif., on the same day of the Washington, D.C., convoy.
“Ride for the Constitution will now organize a convoy to Facebook corporate headquarters … to coincide with the ride to Washington, D.C.,” the group explained. “We fully intend to arrive on corporate America’s doorstep with our original ‘community standards’ guideline in hand – the U.S. Constitution.”
The truckers also launched their website, RideForTheConstitution.org, and created a second Facebook page called, “Truckers Ride for the Constitution.”
‘Wake up the sleeping giant’

What do they intend to accomplish with a convoy into Washington and nationwide rallies on overpasses?
Neighbors explained, “The goal is to wake up the sleeping giant, the people of America.”
Truckers co-organizer Benn Pam said the rally will be quite a patriotic scene.
“I think it’s great,” he said. “There are going to be thousands of trucks on the highways, flying flags. There are all of those people who are in the Overpasses campaign flying flags. Between the two groups, we may be covering a good part of the national highway network.”
Andrews said more organizations are expected to join the rally, and she has “two other huge groups that will give me a conformation.”
But this event isn’t just another political rally. The joint venture has clear objectives. Neighbors said one goal is to pressure Congress to begin the impeachment process.
“In doing so, the people can force Congress to act to begin by removing Obama from office,” he explained.
He said his group will also protest “RINOs and progressive Democrats” before the 2014 midterm elections.
Andrews said she believes connecting with the Overpasses group will help achieve her group’s aims.
“We both want to see an end to the unconstitutional laws in this country,” she said.
By joining forces, she said, both groups will get more publicity and video footage of the event.
However, the group’s short-term goal is to see a three-day cessation of business. Organizers are asking Americans to pre-purchase food and other necessities before Oct. 11 to send a message to Congress.
“We want to see the dollar stop circulating for three days,” Andrews said. “What we also want to see is deregulation for the truckers and our Constitution restored. We want to get rid of unconstitutional laws like the National Defense Authorization Act and the Patriot Act.”
Andrews also said she has a list of grievances she plans to present to every member of Congress before the trucks leave Washington.
Time to rally, contact lawmakers

Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment national coordinator and co-founder Rick Halle said he’s hopeful that the event will get Congress to remember its commitment to the Constitution.
“The ultimate result would be for our representatives to start taking their oath to protect and defend the Constitution seriously,” he said. “At the very least, we will get the message out to others who believe, as we do, that government corruption is rampant and that they are not alone.”
However, Halle admitted that Congress will only feel pressure if enough people rally in the streets and make their voices heard by calling their lawmakers.
“We believe that we will also wake some people up so they start paying attention,” he said. “If enough people wake up and start contacting their representatives, then we believe that they will have no choice but to take notice.”
Some critics in the trucking industry have taken to Facebook to condemn the upcoming protest.
American Trucking Associations spokesman Sean McNally said his group opposes Andrews’ activities.
“The American Trucking Associations is not a sponsor of this ‘strike’ nor do we endorse or condone the activities of these few individuals,” McNally said. “ATA and the vast majority of America’s truck drivers will continue to deliver the nation’s most essential goods unabated even while we continue to work through whatever policy disagreements we have with Congress and the administration.”
But Andrews is undeterred.
She said, “I have the truckers that I need.”

Chop 'N' Drop: A Collaboration to Improve Stream Habitat for Brook Trout

During the summer of 2013, Maine wildlife and forest groups joined forces to learn how to "chop 'n' drop" in the woods to improve stream habitat. Historically, Maine streams were straightened or cleared by the timber industry to most efficiently transport logs to the mills but, unfortunately, these objectives negatively impacted brook trout habitat.

With log drives a thing of the past, Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, Maine Forest Service, Forest Society of Maine, Plum Creek and others are working together to reverse history and put wood back in the water to fast track stream recovery. Learn more and watch the action from the "chop 'n' drop" at Intervale Brook near Greenville, Maine.
