Flash mobs used to be so much fun. A group of people would arrange to meet in a public place at a particular time and would perform a song or a dance number or some other form of entertainment very suddenly and without warning. Well, the term "flash mob" is rapidly coming to mean something else now. All over the country, young people are using social media and other forms of communication to coordinate shocking large scale crimes. At first there were just a few isolated "mob robberies" around the country, but now we have a full-fledged flash mob epidemic on our hands. Sometimes these flash mobs are involved in "mass shoplifting" events, and in other cases flash mobs are just committing random acts of violence. But it is a very disturbing sign for our nation that all over the country we have large groups of young people that are banding together to commit very serious crimes. This is something that is really unprecedented in modern U.S. history, and it is yet another indication that our society is starting to fall apart.

Authorities keep telling us that they have everything under control, but these kinds of incidents continue to become more frequent.

Other examples of this flash mob phenomenon have been captured on video in Stockton, California, in Washington D.C. and in Las Vegas.

But flash mobs are not just engaged in shoplifting. Recently, we have seen quite a few incidents where flash mobs have been involved in mass violence.

Back on July 4th, approximately 1,000 young people violently disrupted an Independence Day celebration in the Cleveland suburb of Shaker Heights. Reportedly, the young people used social media websites to mobilize for the event.

Even more disturbing is what happened recently at the Wisconsin state fair. The following is how one local ABC News affiliate described the "flash mob" attacks that took place....

Milwaukee police said that around 11:10 p.m., squads were sent to the area for reports of battery, fighting and property damage being caused by an unruly crowd of "hundreds" of people. One officer described it as a "mob beating."
Police said the group of young people attacked fair goers who were leaving the fair grounds. Police said that some victims were attacked while walking. They said others were pulled out of cars and off of motorcycles before being beaten.

Could you imagine taking your family to the state fair only to be pulled out of your car and beaten up by a horde of violent youths?

Yes, this is now happening in the heartland of America.

But the biggest problems with flash mobs have been in highly concentrated urban areas. In America today there are millions of young men and women that don't have jobs and that don't have any hope and they are starting to take out their frustrations on innocent people.

The Lewiston Sun Journal ran an inaccurate editorial on Sunday, July 15, “A taxing comparison to Maine,” that claimed Maine is not a high tax state compared to New Hampshire.

“The bottom line, though?” the editorial asked. “We Mainers paid fewer state taxes than our bordering neighbors during the first part of this year. And, interestingly enough, based on U.S. Census figures (which do not include local and federal taxes), we paid fewer state taxes during the same time . . . this rally cry that we’re the most taxed state in the country deserves more scrutiny than any sound bite can carry.”

Really? All the ink spilled over the last few decades about Maine’s high tax burden has been in vain? Rejoice, the Sun Journal declares it all a hoax!

The most useful way to gauge the tax burden is by comparing it with the productive capacity of the economy. The Sun Journal simply—and erroneously—looked at the absolute amount of taxes being paid in Maine and New Hampshire.

The editorial failed to consider that New Hampshire’s economy is sizably larger than Maine’s. For instance, in 2011 personal income in New Hampshire was 20 percent higher—that’s $10 billion more than in Maine ($60 billion in N.H. versus $50 billion in Maine).

The gap grows even wider if you consider just the private sector share of personal income. In 2011, New Hampshire’s private sector was 39 percent larger ($13 billion) than Maine’s ($46 billion versus $33 billion). Overall, New Hampshire has the largest private sector in the country, while Maine has only the 39th.

When looking at the total, it is no surprise that New Hamsphire would show higher tax collections than Maine. The difference is that those living in New Hampshire’s economy have a greater ability to pay than those of us in Maine’s economy.

As such, New Hampshire’s tax burden is one of the lowest in the country, while Maine’s remains one of the highest.

But we thank the Sun Journal for implicitly making one of our major points: a rising tide does truly lift all boats—including government coffers.

Hawaii found to be bogus birth-certificate factory

PHOENIX – After determining earlier this year there is probable cause to suspect the document released by the White House as Barack Obama’s birth certificate is a forgery, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said today he believes his Cold Case Posse’s investigation should be advanced to the federal government, based on further information released today at a press conference under way now in Phoenix that is being live-streamed by WND.

Cold Case Posse lead investigator Mike Zullo said the new information confirms the document presented to the American public in April 2011 is undoubtedly fraudulent.

Arpaio told WND he intends to move the investigation and the new information to a higher authority within the federal government because of what he calls an imminent threat to national security and U.S. immigration laws. The threat is posed by a flaw in Hawaii’s law discovered by his investigators that allows a foreigner to obtain a Hawaii birth certificate.

“Although I am having a difficult time deciding who to forward this information to given the fact that the obvious choices report directly to the president, I cannot stand by and hold on to information that threatens to weaken national security,” Arpaio said.
Arpaio said he intends on keeping a case file open if more information surfaces or if federal authorities decide to ignore the case.

Zullo explained that along with new information discovered regarding the birth certificate since the posse’s March 1 press conference, his team has discovered Hawaii provides easy access to a birth certificate, even if the child wasn’t born in the state.

Under Hawaii Revised Statute 338-17.8, a person only has to be an established resident of Hawaii, not necessarily a U.S. citizen, and pay taxes there for one year to be able to register an out-of-state or foreign-born person with an official Hawaii birth certificate.
“If a nation’s security is only as strong as its weakest link, then America may be in serious trouble,” Arpaio said in a statement. “Hawaii may be our weakest link and could have a serious impact on our nation’s immigration policy.”

Among the new findings presented by lead Cold Case Posse investigator Mike Zullo:

• The sheriff’s investigators have learned of a birth certificate coding system that indicates the White House document has been altered.

• An interview with the Hawaii official who allegedly signed the Obama document in 1961, Verna K.L. Lee, provided further confirmation of the coding anomalies.

• Investigators were troubled to find key information missing on the verification document Hawaii provided to Arizona’s secretary of state in May.

• Hawaii’s deputy attorney general, Jill T. Nagamine, confirm the state has a birth document on file for Obama. But she would not confirm on the record that the White House document matched what was on file with the Hawaii Department of Health.

• The sheriff’s investigators interviewed three persons of interest who have provided additional information in the case.

In prepared opening remarks, Arpaio chastised the media for the way it has handled the investigation.

“You have demeaned this investigation at every turn as silly and wasteful,” he said. “Your contempt about the subject and me for pursuing it has been duly noted.”

He urged media members to listen to Zullo’s presentation of the new evidence.
“Keep an open mind if you can,” he said. “Put away all you pre conceived ideas. Keep your eye on the ball.”

Arpaio’s investigation was initiated last October when 250 Maricopa County citizens approached him for help because they believed the electronic document presented by the White House to the American public was a forgery. Arpaio said he went ahead with the probe with the intent of being able to clear the president and put the matter to rest. But he explained the investigation found too many inconsistencies on the birth certificate.
“We also looked into the president’s selective service registration card and found that it, too, appeared to be fraudulent,” Arpaio said.

Investigators since then have traveled to Hawaii and have interviewed more witnesses, the sheriff said.

Addressing the coding issue, Zullo explained that the Hawaii Department of Health, which categorized vital information issued at the time of the president’s birth, used specific number codes that were written in pencil to transfer information from a paper birth certificate to a database file.

The codes seen on the document issued by the White House are not consistent with the information entered into the various fields, indicating the document has been altered or amended.

In the coding system, the number 9 indicates the information is not stated, meaning there should not be any information in the box in which the number is written.
However, the number 9 can be seen written in pencil next to the fields for “Usual Occupation,” “Kind of Business or Industry” and “Race of Father” on Obama’s document. Each of those fields are filled with information.

“This proves the document has been tampered with and information has been placed on it,” Zullo said.

Sheriff’s investigators tracked down the registrar who allegedly signed the White House’s birth document, U.K. Lee, who is now 95. She provided information that posed further inconsistencies with the story of Obama’s birth at the Kapiolani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital in 1961.

The investigators also analyzed the Hawaii Department of Health’s response to Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett’s request that Obama’s birth information be verified.
They interviewed in person the Hawaii assistant attorney general to verify that the document presented by the White House was the same document on file with the Department of Health.

Investigators said they were troubled to find key information missing on the verification document, including the president’s date of birth.

They said they were equally troubled that the deputy attorney general would not confirm on record that the White House document matched what was on file with the health department.

The national security concerns raised by the investigation are based on Hawaii Revised Statute 338.17.8. which states:

338-17.8 Certificates for children born out of state.
Upon application of an adult or the legal parents of a minor child, the director of health shall issue a birth certificate for such adult or minor, provided that proof has been submitted to the director of health that the legal parents of such individual while living without the Territory or State of Hawaii had declared the Territory or State of Hawaii as their legal residence for at least one year immediately preceding the birth or adoption of such child.

Arpaio and his investigators said they have deep concerns that the Hawaii Revised Statute is a loophole that makes it possible for foreign born children to illegally establish U.S. citizenship.

They said the concern is also relevant given the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling concerning Arizona’s proposed state immigration law, SB 1070, in which the federal court ruled state laws cannot be in contradiction or in conflict with federal law.
Zullo noted that, normally, when it’s necessary to prove a person is a U.S. Citizen, the main form of documentation is a state certificate of birth.

“It appears that in the case of Hawaii law, any person can obtain a birth certificate if any adult or their parents can prove that they resided in Hawaii for one year and paid taxes,” he said. “There is no requirement to show that the child itself was actually born in Hawaii or on U.S. soil.”

In a letter from President Dan Danner, the National Federation of Independent Business accused President Obama of “ignoring small business warning of ‘fiscal cliff.’”

The letter is concerning the impending expiration of what the NFIB calls “crucial tax provisions,” referring to the potential expiration of Bush-era tax rates that were friendly to businesses. The business-friendly rates are set to expire at the end of 2012, and that could spell trouble for the small-business community that is already struggling with a slow economy.

“Warned repeatedly of a rapidly approaching ‘fiscal cliff’ that will have lasting economic consequences, the president is refusing to steer the economy clear of an impending tax increase of major proportions, proclaiming ‘the private sector is doing just fine,’” said NFIB President Danner. “But the facts are clear. According to the latest NFIB Small Business Optimism Index, Main Street reversed its engines in June. Owners’ hopes for better times ahead plunged three percentage points, wiping out any gains made earlier in the year.”

Danner goes on to say in the letter that it is critical to small business around the country that the tax rates are renewed, and says the inaction of President Obama and Congress to renew the rates to help stabilize businesses, could cost those businesses as much as $500 billion.

“It’s not too late. The president can avert the plunge over the fiscal cliff,” Danner said. “A failure to extend these key tax lifelines to small firms will only cause more damage to America’s floundering economy.”

President Obama’s politically based move to block the extension of crucial, soon-to-expire tax provisions will have very real consequences to small businesses. His decision to increase taxes on all Americans who earn more than $250,000, small-business owners in particular, will impact businesses that are in the best position to create jobs.

Warned repeatedly of a rapidly approaching “fiscal cliff” that will have lasting economic consequences, the president is refusing to steer the economy clear of an impending tax increase of major proportions, proclaiming “the private sector is doing just fine.”

But the facts are clear. According to the latest National Federation of Independent Business Small Business Optimism Index, Main Street reversed its engines in June. Owners’ hopes for better times ahead plunged three percentage points, wiping out any gains made earlier in the year.

Nine of the survey’s 10 indicators fell negative: job creation became very weak—far short of that needed to reduce the 8.2 percent unemployment rate while weak sales reached the top of the list as the biggest problem for one-fourth of owners, followed by taxes and unreasonable regulations. Credit conditions offered the only positive note, but more than nine of 10 owners have no need to borrow in this struggling economy.

Small firms, historically the primary source of the nation’s new jobs, are struggling; many are going under. But the Obama administration shows no intention of tossing them a lifeline. Instead, the president has made it clear he believes the economy’s rescue can only be achieved through higher taxes, bigger bureaucracies and greater regulation, all key components of his new health law.

That’s why he’s ignoring the red flags being waved furiously by economists, business leaders and worried Main Street entrepreneurs who grasp the danger that the Dec. 31 tax expiration deadline holds. This combination of tax increases and spending reductions could send the economy back into a recession further exacerbating small business owner’s outlook. But if it unfolds as the president hopes, it will generate a huge windfall to fuel more government growth and help pay for Obamacare.

In all, these tax increases amount to a $500 billion tax bill for the private sector, mainly small businesses whose reluctance to expand is caused by political uncertainty. Allowing the provisions to lapse will end important tax provisions. Most brackets will rise, as will capital gains rates on long-term assets; dividends will be taxed as ordinary income; and credits for earned income, dependent care and adoptions will cease.

In addition, estate taxes will leap 20 percentage points to 55 percent, expensing limits will fall, employees’ payroll taxes will rise by one-third to 6.2 percent and 31 million additional taxpayers will be forced to pay alternative minimum taxes.

SHOULDA WOULDA COULDA...U NEED TO READ

Too many people put off  something that brings them joy just because they haven't thought  about it, don't have it on their schedule, didn't know it was coming  or are too rigid to depart from their routine.

I got to thinking one day  about all those people on the Titanic who passed up dessert at  dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut back. From then on,  I've tried to be a little more flexible.


How many women out there  will eat at home because their husband didn't suggest going out to  dinner until after something had been thawed? Does the word  'refrigeration' mean nothing to you?


How often have your kids  dropped in to talk and sat in silence while you watched ' Jeopardy '  on television? 



I cannot count the times I  called my sister and said , 'How about going to lunch in a half  hour?' She would gas up and stammer, 'I can't. I have clothes on the  line. My hair is dirty. I wish I had known yesterday, I had a late  breakfast, It looks like rain' And my personal favorite: 'It's  Monday.' She died a few days ago. We never did have lunch  together.


Because we cram so much  into our lives, we tend to schedule our headaches.. We live on a  sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all the conditions  are perfect! 



We'll go back and visit  the grandparents when we get Steve toilet-trained. We'll entertain  when we replace the living-room carpet. We'll go on a second  honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college.


Life has a way of  accelerating as we get older. The days get shorter, and the list of  promises to ourselves gets longer. One morning, we awaken, and all  we have to show for our lives is a litany of 'I'm going to,' 'I plan  on,' and 'Someday, when things are settled down a bit.'


When anyone calls my  'seize the moment' friend, she is open to adventure and available  for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for  life is contagious. You talk with her for five minutes, and you're  ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of Rollerblades and skip an  elevator for a bungee cord. 



My lips have not touched  ice cream in 10 years. I love ice cream. It's just that I might as  well apply it directly to my stomach with a spatula and eliminate  the digestive process. The other day, I stopped the car and bought a  triple-Decker. If my car had hit an iceberg on the way home, I would  have died happy. 



Now....go on and have a  nice day. Do something you WANT to...not something on your SHOULD DO  list. If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you  could make, who would you call and what would you say? And why are  you waiting? I had a friend from high school that I was always going  to call and never did. The other day her name was in the obituaries  so we never had that chat.

Make sure you read this to  the end; you will understand why I sent this to you. 



Have you ever watched kids  playing on a merry go round or listened to the rain lapping on the  ground? Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight or gazed at the  sun into the fading night? Do you run through each day on the fly?  When you ask, 'How are you?' Do you hear the reply?


When the day is done, do  you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running through  your head? Ever told your child, 'We'll do it tomorrow.' and in your  haste, not see his sorrow? Ever lost touch? Let a good friendship  die? Just call to say 'Hi'? 



When you worry and hurry  through your day, it is like an unopened gift....Thrown away....  Life is not a race. Take it slower. Hear the music before the song  is over. 



Show your friends how much  you care. Send this to everyone you consider a FRIEND including me  if you consider me a friend. If it comes back to you, it affirms  your circle of friends.

Life may not be the party  we hoped for... But while we are here we might as well  dance!

LISBON COUNCIL MEETING RULES
1. Please obtain a copy of the evening’s agenda and note the order that items may be acted upon by the Council (if this is a regular or special meeting where action may be taken by the Council). In some instances, the Council may elect to change the order of the agenda.

2. If the Council is holding a Council workshop, public comment is not typically allowed. There are occasions where some public comment may be recruited, but generally speaking, the workshops are reserved for Council members to educate themselves on and discuss a variety of issues facing the Town.

3. Note that “Consent Agenda” items (if there are any) are acted upon first, voted upon as a group, and will most often be voted on without discussion as these items often involve “housekeeping” issues (such as minor parking changes). On occasion “Consent Agenda” items are separated out as stand-alone action items by the Council to allow for more discussion.

4. The Council Chairman presides over the meeting. When the Chairman is not present, the Vice Chairman serves that function.

5. Action on agenda items. As each item on the agenda for any meeting is brought to the floor for discussion:
a. The town clerk reads the agenda item and the action being requested of council.
b. The sponsor of each item or, if there is no council sponsor, the town manager or town staff, shall first be allowed to present their initial comments for consideration by the public and other councilors.
c. Following this introduction of the issue, there will be time devoted to any questions of the sponsor or the town manager or staff regarding the agenda item which any councilor may have which would help to clarify the question presented by the agenda item. The chair may allow questions from the public during this time (4b), and no debate or discussion of collateral issues shall be permitted.
d. Once the agenda item has been explained by its sponsor or the town manager or staff and clarified by any questioning as provided above in (4c), the discussion on the specific agenda item will remain with the council and public comment will only be allowed at the Chairman’s discretion. The public shall address the item during the Public Hearing or Audience Participation section of the agenda.
e. The chair may, if the topic warrants, allow a second period of public comment no longer than two minutes per person, prior to final council vote. Second comments by the public must be to furnish new or undisclosed information or viewpoints.

6. If an “Executive Session” is conducted by the Council, State Statute prohibits public attendance for any discussion of the action to be addressed by the Council. Any action taken by the Council on any “Executive Session” matter must be acted upon in a public meeting, and may occur at the end of the “Executive Session” (which has no time element relative to the length of the discussion involved in the “session”).

Hi Folks.  I'm still safe in Augusta, capital of Maine.  I am posting this notice since there has been reason for concern for my safety here.  I'm fine.
I will always try to post a quick article upon arrival as I know many people worry about me.
We had a very full schedule in Maine.  We had a few last-minute cancellations, but we were able to fill those slots with some surprise victims, including Heather Taylor.
 State Coordinator Dottie Lafortune did a spectacular job and pampered everyone with food, drink, and her infectious personality.

Breaking news: According to two Merck scientists who filed a False Claims Act complaint in 2010 -- a complaint which has just now been unsealed -- vaccine manufacturer Merck knowingly falsified its mumps vaccine test data, spiked blood samples with animal antibodies, sold a vaccine that actually promoted mumps and measles outbreaks, and ripped off governments and consumers who bought the vaccine thinking it was "95% effective."

According to Stephen Krahling and Joan Wlochowski, both former Merck virologists, the Merck company engaged in all the following behavior:

• Merck knowingly falsified its mumps vaccine test results to fabricate a "95% efficacy rate."

• In order to do this, Merck spiked the blood test with animal antibodies in order to artificially inflate the appearance of immune system antibodies. As reported in CourthouseNews.com:

Merck also added animal antibodies to blood samples to achieve more favorable test results, though it knew that the human immune system would never produce such antibodies, and that the antibodies created a laboratory testing scenario that "did not in any way correspond to, correlate with, or represent real life ... virus neutralization in vaccinated people," according to the complaint. • Merck then used the falsified trial results to swindle the U.S. government out of "hundreds of millions of dollars for a vaccine that does not provide adequate immunization."

• Merck's vaccine fraud has actually contributed to the continuation of mumps across America, causing more children to become infected with mumps. (Gee, really? This is what NaturalNews has been reporting for years... vaccines are actually formulated to keep the outbreaks going because it's great for repeat business!)

• Merck used its false claims of "95 percent effectiveness" to monopolize the vaccine market and eliminate possible competitors.

• The Merck vaccine fraud has been going on since the late 1990's, say the Merck virologists.

• Testing of Merck's vaccine was never done against "real-world" mumps viruses in the wild. Instead, test results were simply falsified to achieve the desired outcome.

• This entire fraud took place "with the knowledge, authority and approval of Merck's senior management."

• Merck scientists "witnessed firsthand the improper testing and data falsification in which Merck engaged to artificially inflate the vaccine's efficacy findings," according to court documents
