Boehner Has Just Hired A "Professional Amnesty Advocate" To Spearhead Efforts To Pass Amnesty.

       For months, conservatives let out collective sighs of relief because John Boehner had repeatedly stated, without equivocation, that the Senate's "Gang of Eight" Amnesty bill was dead on arrival in the House.

       Back in November, The Hill reported: "For months, the Speaker has vowed that the House would neither take up the Senate Gang of Eight bill nor consider a similar 'comprehensive' piece of immigration legislation."

       And Boehner even stated: "The idea that we're going to take up a 1,300-page bill that no one had ever read, which is what the Senate did, is not going to happen in the House. And frankly, I'll make clear we have no intention of ever going to conference on the Senate bill."

       Then last week, Boehner shocked Washington insiders by hiring Rebecca Tallent - a woman who Mark Krikorian, head of the Center for Immigration Studies, called a "professional amnesty advocate" - to spearhead "immigration reform" efforts in the House of Representatives... And the radical left jumped for joy.

       According to the Washington Times: "Immigrant rights [Amnesty] advocates cheered the move as a sign of Mr. Boehner's dedication to action."

       But Tallent is more than just a "professional amnesty advocate." Tallent is one of the architects of the failed Kennedy-McCain Amnesty push that patriotic Americans like you stopped years ago.

       Daniel Horowitz with RedState.com put it this way: "Let this seep in for a moment. The most important immigration policy staffer on the Republican side not only shares the views of the opposition, but actually worked to craft the very legislation they seek to pass as Obama's crowning achievement."

       Make no mistake, the fix is in and we can only "unfix" this betrayal by letting our so-called political leaders know, in no uncertain terms, that you are wise to this planned betrayal. Mark our words, when they know that you're wise to what they're planning to do... THEY WILL BACK DOWN.

What A Tangled Web We Weave, When First We Practice To Deceive.

       But hints of deception are not simply based on Boehner's decision to hire an "Amnesty-Top-Gun" to spearhead "immigration reform" efforts in the House of Representatives.

       Consider the following report from Breitbart.com:

       "A new report from the Texas-based Quorum Report, published by longtime Texas journalist Harvey Kronberg, says that House Speaker John Boehner plans to push amnesty legislation through the House, after the primary filing deadline for candidates. The move would prevent Tea Party from challenging GOP lawmakers who support amnesty in 2014."

       "Scott Braddock [with the Quorum Report] reported on Tuesday that 'in recent weeks, various Texas business interests have told Quorum Report that Boehner has been telling them that he will start holding immigration votes not long after the filing deadline has passed.'

       "Braddock noted that those business community sources spoke with him 'on condition of anonymity because their conversations were held behind closed doors and they added it wasn't made clear to them just how confidential the information was meant to be.'"

       Erick Erickson with RedState.com chimed in: "Here's what is going to happen. Boehner will wait until 2014, after qualifying for all the serious challenges to incumbents is over. Then he'll get all these Republicans talking out of both sides of their mouths and the Democrats together for a bipartisan immigration reform push. The threat of primary challenges well passed, they'll get their amnesty deal done. ... Republicans are so convinced you will turn out and vote for them in 2014 to spite Obama, they are perfectly happy to screw you over in this fight knowing how cheap a date the conservative movement has become."

       Can it be true? Was John Boehner planning to lock arms with Barack Obama on Amnesty all along to appease big dollar special interests? Did he only pretend to stall Amnesty to prevent pesky Tea Party candidates from challenging closeted pro-Amnesty Republican incumbents?

       We'll let you, the reader, make your own conclusions. But one thing is certain: A behind-closed-doors betrayal is in the works and we're not about to let Boehner and Company pull the wool over your eyes. The fix may be in but the righteous outrage of patriotic Americans can stop it.

Eldridge Is At It Again!

WASTED TIME BY TOWN COUNCIL

Tomorrow night the Town Council, after their orientation, will be reviewing “Discontinuing Roads”. If I remember correctly, this is the third time Town Engineer, Ryan Leighton, and the Town Manager, Stephen Eldridge, has brought this before a Town Council. The last two times the Town Attorney, Roger Therriault, told the council there are liability issues attached to the discontinuing of roads. Once this was brought out, the issue of discontinuing roads was never brought up again.

However, Mr. Leighton and Mr. Eldridge continue to waste the council’s time by presenting the issue to the new council. If I remember correctly, Mr. Leighton and Mr. Eldridge will provide documentation that is over 6 years old and this listing will have all the roads in town to confuse the issue. The council will be asked to find all these roads as Mr. Leighton and Mr. Eldridge give a presentation. Of course, the correct method of presenting an issue is not to clutter it up with unnecessary information. The listing presented to the council should be ONLY the roads being considered for discontinuation.

Providing unnecessary information and deliberately confusing the issue, is not the proper method in which to present issues before the council. It is unfortunate for the council that they rely heavy on the Town Manager for guidance. This Town Manager has done nothing more than to provide previous councils with false information or only half truths. The end result is poor decisions by previous councils. Hopefully, this council will be able to see through this deception.

Going over issues that were not approved by previous councils is a pure waste of time.

While Justin Bieber performed on stage at a Christmas Special this year I noticed the little brat didn't have enough sense to pull up his pants. He sagged. His pants were below his little but cheeks for all the world to see. He actually had to hold the front of his pants up at the end of the song. His parents obviously didn't enough sense to instill some basic manners in him. If you want to 'sag' in front of your young audience that's one thing. But what kind of message does that send to our young generation while performing a Christmas song. I would choose Bob Hope's style and character any day.. Bob Hope performed for the brave troops in WW2, Korean War, Viet Nam and the Persian Gulf War. The actors who he brought along were the very best of the best.

Sack Lunches on an Airliner

Sack Lunches :

I put my carry-on in the luggage compartment and sat down in my assigned seat. It was going to be a long flight. 'I'm
glad I have a good book to read. Perhaps I will get a short nap,' I thought.

Just before take-off, a line of soldiers came down the aisle and
filled all the vacant seats, totally surrounding me. I decided to start a conversation.

'Where are you headed?' I asked the soldier seated nearest to
me. 'Petawawa. We'll be there for two weeks for special training, and then we're being deployed to Afghanistan

After flying for about an hour, an announcement was
made that sack lunches were available for five dollars. It would be several hours before we reached the east, and I quickly
decided a lunch would help pass the time...

As I reached for my wallet, I overheard a soldier ask his buddy if he planned to buy lunch. 'No, that seems like a lot of money for just a sack lunch. Probably wouldn't be worth five bucks.
I'll wait till we get to base.'

His friend agreed.

I looked around at the other soldiers. None were buying lunch. I walked to the back of the plane and handed the flight attendant a fifty dollar bill. 'Take a lunch to all those soldiers.' She grabbed my arms and squeezed tightly. Her eyes wet with tears, she thanked me. 'My son was a soldier in Iraq ; it's almost like you are doing it for him.'

Picking up ten sacks, she headed up the aisle to where the soldiers were seated. She stopped at my seat and asked, 'Which do you like best - beef or chicken?' 'Chicken,' I replied, wondering why she asked. She turned and went to the front of plane, returning a minute later with a dinner plate from first class.

'This is your thanks.'

After we finished eating, I went again to the back of the plane, heading for the rest room. A man stopped me. 'I saw what you did. I want to be part of it. Here, take this.' He handed me twenty-five dollars.

Soon after I returned to my seat, I saw the Flight Captain coming down the aisle, looking at the aisle numbers as he walked, I hoped he was not looking for me, but noticed he was looking at the numbers only on my side of the plane. When he got to my row he stopped, smiled, held out his hand and said, 'I want to shake your hand.' Quickly unfastening my seat-belt I stood and took the Captain's hand.

With a booming voice he said, 'I was a soldier and I was a military pilot. Once, someone bought me a lunch. It was an act of kindness I never forgot.' I was embarrassed when applause was heard from all of the passengers.

Later I walked to the front of the plane so I could stretch my legs. A man who was seated about six rows in front of me reached out his hand, wanting to shake mine. He
left another twenty-five dollars in my palm.

When we landed I gathered my belongings and started to deplane. Waiting just inside the airplane door was a man who stopped me, put something in my shirt pocket, turned, and walked away without saying a word. Another twenty-five dollars!

Upon entering the terminal, I saw the soldiers gathering for their trip to the base.

I walked over to them and handed them seventy-five dollars. 'It will take you some time to reach the base. It will be about time for a sandwich. God Bless You.'

Ten young men left that flight feeling the love and respect of their fellow travelers.

As I walked briskly to my car, I whispered a prayer for their safe return. These soldiers were giving their all for our country. I could only give them a couple of meals. It seemed so little...

A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'citizens of United States 'for an amount of 'up to and including my life.'

That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.'

Last night, President Obama subverted a Justice Department investigation. Yeah, he did.

During the back rub of an interview the president received from Chris Matthews Thursday night, Obama, while decrying the routine practice of journalism – it focuses on too many bad things, he whined – wandered into a declaration that the IRS targeted conservative groups for “bureaucratic reasons” – as opposed to a criminal reasons – and that agents weren’t intentionally singling out “Tea Party folks.”

If on the other hand, you’ve got an office in Cincinnati in the IRS office that I think for bureaucratic reasons is trying to streamline what a difficult law to interpret about whether non-profit is actually a political organization deserves a tax exempt agency , and they’ve got a list, suddenly everybody’s outraged.

By the way, Chris, I’ll point out that there are some called progressives perceived to be liberal commentators who during that week were just outraged at the possibility that these folks had been at the direction of the Democratic Party in some way discriminated against tea party folks. That is what gets news, what gets attention.

If this sounds like mere typical Obama indignation, let me remind you of something. The Justice Department is currently investigating whether crimes were committed by IRS officials in this affair.

Pretend you’re a career DOJ investigator who is trying to take the probe seriously, and you’re attempting to find out if there was criminal behavior as IRS agents zeroed in on the tax status of groups opposed to the reelection of the president of the United States.

Well, the boss just gave you your answer. So please, do stand down."

Here are the "cowards" who bear the blame ...

"Earlier this year, then-Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey announced they were lifting the ban on women serving in ground combat operations, a move one Army expert and author says is the result of an aggressive feminist agenda and military brass unwilling to stand up to politicians and champion military readiness over political correctness.

“If you look at the chiefs of the services, none of them have direct ground combat, so they really don’t know what we’re talking about here. There’s a radical feminist agenda here, and they never would have been selected by the Obama administration … unless they agreed that they would move forward on these particular agendas,” retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Bob Maginnis, author of “Deadly Consequences: How Cowards Are Pushing Women Into Combat,” told WND.

“They know what the facts are, but they’re cowering with a silence, much like the people on the Hill are cowering because they have a constitutional obligation to stop this, but they’re going ahead with it,” said Maginnis, who quickly points out that bowing to politically correct forces was commonplace in the Clinton and George W. Bush administrations and is not unique to the Obama presidency."

On the FY 2015 Town of Lisbon Capital Improvement Plan presented to the Town Council at last Tuesday’s meeting, was some very interesting items. Under the Police Department were several items listed:

Now on October 1, 2013 during the Town Council meeting Chief Brooks attempted to notify the town council of the receipt to the town of $71,750.78 received electronically from the Treasury Department as forfeiture money. Below is an extract from the minutes of the council meeting detailing how this money could be utilized:

“Chief Brooks said the U.S. Department of Justice: Criminal Assets, Forfeiture, and Money Laundering section on equitable sharing by federal law enforcement states that equitable shared funds will be used for law enforcement purposes only. Permissible uses are law enforcement investigations, law enforcement training, law enforcement equipment, law enforcement and detention facilities, law enforcement travel and transportation, law enforcement awards and memorials, drug and gang education and awareness programs, matching funds and the list goes on.”

Having defined what this forfeiture money could be used for; why are the following items on the Capital Improvement Plan? These are (1) the Animal Control Officer’s vehicle; (2) the Document Imaging Unit; (3) Mobile Radios (11); and finally (4) the Vater Radio System. All of these items are law enforcement equipment and qualify to be purchased with this $71,750.78 in forfeiture funds. So this begs the question as to (1) why have Chief Brooks NOT ordered this equipment already and (2) why are these items on the FY 2015 Capital Improvement Plan?

Why should the taxpayers have to fund any of these items when they qualify as legal expenditures under the forfeiture program?

LEASE TO PURCHASE AGREEMENT

I know that I have written about this before but I think this issue is so important that I need to stress how very wrong this is for the taxpayers. I am going to use the latest acquisition of two police vehicles as an example to help show how this works.

When the 2013-2014 municipal budget was approved it included the purchase of two police vehicles. Chief Brooks then put out a request for bid for the purchase of these two vehicles. Chief Brooks received the bids and presented the purchase of these vehicles to the Town Council. The Town Council approved the purchase of these two vehicles for $48,816.00 of our tax dollars.

Now, here is where it gets tricky. Chief Brooks takes this $48,816.00 of our tax dollars for the purchase of these two vehicles and converts this into a Lease to Purchase Agreement. So instead of spending the $48,816.00, the town spent ONLY $15, 331.21 for the first installation of the Lease to Purchase Agreement. So where did the remaining money ($33,484.79) go to?

The first question, I have is why did Chief Brooks go out for bid to PURCHASE these vehicles if he knew he was going to Lease to Purchase them? Next, why did the Town Council approve $48,816.00 tax dollars if they knew these vehicles were going to be Leased instead of Purchased instead of the $15,331.21?

So let’s take a look at this business decision and see if it is really cost effective. Remember the Town Council approved, in the 2013-2014 Municipal Budget, the cost to purchase these two vehicles. This means there were sufficient tax dollars available to cover the cost of these two vehicles.

The Lease to Purchase Agreement means that the payment for these vehicles would be spread out over several years. It also means that there is an additional fee for this service. Then you have to add in the Administrative cost of making the yearly payments. This would include all the paperwork to generate a Purchase Order and issue a check by the town staff. It also involves the Town Manager, Finance Director and the Accounts Payable individual. All of these costs need to be added into the total cost of these vehicles.

Just, the additional fee of the lease program being added to the cost of the original bid price makes these vehicles cost the taxpayers $63,848.79 instead of the $48,816.00. This means these two vehicles cost the taxpayers an additional cost of $15,032.79 plus the Administrative cost that I am unable to compute. Why is this necessary if we had the money to PURCHASE these vehicles in the first place?

Public Works has mechanical personnel on staff to keep the town’s vehicles operational. The town also has the ability to contract out service to local garages in case of an emergency. So this cannot be justification for lease to purchase.

So, is the Lease to Purchase the best business decision for the Town of Lisbon and their taxpayers?

carries anywhere near that much.

enables him to carry and operate with
whatever weight he does go out with
(50 to 90 pounds tops)

People can watch all the games
they want. It will not condition them
to carry and maneuver with all the gear
the police say this person brought with
him.

So it’s you YOU who are full of crap
and willfully ignorant to boot.

deserve a better investigation than
the garbage that TV-addled idiots

PPH: Former Maine town clerk pleads guilty to embezzling nearly $20,000

BELFAST — A former clerk for the town of Troy pleaded guilty Tuesday in Waldo County Superior Court to embezzling nearly $20,000 in town funds.

Kathy Mattingly, 56, was arrested in June after she confessed to the embezzlement during an interview with a Waldo County Sheriff’s Office detective.

Mattingly’s attorney, Nathan Bell, said he and the state still are negotiating sentencing arrangements for the class C felony conviction of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer. A class C felony is punishable by up to five years in prison and $5,000 in fines.

Which branch is better?

A Soldier, a Sailor, an Airman and a Marine got into an argument about which branch of the service was The Best. The arguing became so heated the four servicemen failed to see an oncoming truck as they crossed the street.
