I forced myself to watch the Fox News Republican debates last night, wondering if anybody would stand out from the 17 candidates.

But what really stood out was the obvious fraud and bias from Fox News itself, which spoon-fed softball questions to Jeb Bush (scripted!) while viciously smearing Donald Trump.

What's obvious -- and horrifying -- is that Fox News is pushing hard for Jeb Bush to be the nominee.

If the 2016 election comes down to another Clinton / Bush fiasco, I think I'm going to puke... America has become a dynasty of two corrupt families running their criminal enterprises disguised as "government."

The Maine Wire: Court Rules Against LePage in Veto Dispute‏

On Thursday, The Supreme Judicial Court of Maine unanimously ruled against Governor Paul R. LePage in his veto dispute with the state legislature.

The disagreement centered around the governor’s veto power and how long the governor could wait before returning vetoed bills to the legislature.  Typically, the governor has ten days to veto bills and return them.  If the legislature adjourns and signals the end of the second legislative session before those ten days are up, the governor may exercise a pocket veto.

LePage’s administration had claimed that the legislature’s temporary adjournment on June 30 triggered a provision in the Maine Constitution which allowed the governor to hold onto bills until the legislature reconvened for three consecutive days.  The governor’s basic argument was that the legislature’s adjournment, with no set date to return, prevented him from returning vetoed bills to the legislature.  Therefore, he could hold onto the vetoed bills longer than the typical ten day period.

The governor acted on this position, refusing to return the bills during the traditional ten day period, only sending them to the legislature after is had reconvened.  Democrat Speaker of the House Mark Eves and Republican Senate President Mike Thibodeau refused to take up the vetoes, however, ruling them out of order.

With his constitutional interpretation rejected by the Maine legislature, LePage asked the Supreme Judicial Court of Maine to answer the question of whether his vetoes stood, or if the bills had become law.

Has Lisbon reverted to its old habit of hiding embarrassing official business from Lisbon Residents?

The recent disclosure of information through a FOIA request and the questionable timing of the release of a new document related to Lisbon's tax revaluation has once again raised the question of Government transparency. 

A recently signed amendment to a DEP agreement obligates Lisbon to pay $17,009 dollars in fines to the DEP for previous infractions. The signing of this agreement  is probably in Lisbon's best interest and will finally close an old DEP case.

 The problem I have with this action isn't the amendment itself but the attempt Councilors made to hide this information from Lisbon residents. All deliberation was held behind closed doors and there was no supporting documentation on the agenda for Lisbon residents. When the Councilors voted on this measure the people were not informed of what was being voted on. It was referred to as "what we discussed in Executive Session". This was an obvious attempt to cover up an embarrassing situation. It reminds me of Rep. Pelosi saying we must pass this bill in order to find out what is in it.

There was absolutely no legitimate reason to keep this information from Lisbon Residents. Most of the supporting information was already released to the public and we weren't dealing with personnel information.

 How can we have trust in our Government Officials then they try to hide information from us.

DO THE PEOPLE HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON IN THEIR COMMUNITY?

The question is do our elected officials have a duty to keep residents informed as to what is going on in their community?   Below is the Maine Revised Statute 401:

§401. Declaration of public policy; rules of construction.

The Legislature finds and declares that public proceedings exist to aid in the conduct of the people's business. It is the intent of the Legislature that their actions be taken openly and that the records of their actions be open to public inspection and their deliberations be conducted openly. It is further the intent of the Legislature that clandestine meetings, conferences or meetings held on private property without proper notice and ample opportunity for attendance by the public not be used to defeat the purposes of this subchapter. [1975, c. 758,  (RPR).]

This subchapter does not prohibit communications outside of public proceedings between members of a public body unless those communications are used to defeat the purposes of this subchapter. [2011, c. 320, Pt. B, §1 (NEW).]

This subchapter shall be liberally construed and applied to promote its underlying purposes and policies as contained in the declaration of legislative intent. [1975, c. 758,  (RPR).]

Under the Maine Revised Statute 405 on Executive Sessions, paragraph 1 states:

1.  Not to defeat purposes of subchapter.  An executive session may not be used to defeat the purposes of this subchapter as stated in section 401.

The Town Council continues to violate Maine Revised Statute 401 and 405.  On July 21, 2015 the Town Council went into Executive Session without identifying what they were discussing; only consulting with Attorney.  Once they came out of Executive Session they never explained to the people what was the problem or situation pertaining to the DEP Consent Agreement or the Revaluation Decision.  The two motions were to approve what was discussed in Executive Session and they voted to accept that motion.  The people have never been informed as to what the situation is or why they need to discuss them in Executive Session.  This is a clear violation of Maine Revised Statute 401 and paragraph 1 of Statute 405.

Now to cover this up, the Revaluation has been posted to the town web site under the Council Agendas and Minutes; Search Minutes 2012 to Present; Town Council Agendas; July 21, 2015 – Regular Town Council Meeting; and finally 2015-211 has been changed from black to blue indicating documents attached.  The DEP Consent Agreement has not been posted as of yet. 

If someone was to look at this agenda it would indicate the supporting documentation (Revaluation Decision) has always been there all along but that is not true.  This is the towns’ way of hiding documents and complying with transparency laws. 

The people have never been informed as to the details of what prompted the Executive Session.  I am not saying the specifics of what take place in Executive Session should be revealed to the people but the people have a right to know what is going on in their community.  It appears that the DEP Consent Agreement is going to cost the taxpayers over $17,000.00 tax dollars for the town not complying with the original agreement.  The people have a right to know how our tax dollars are being spent.

These violations of Maine law are not covered under the “Home Rule” law and the state needs to come in and take action to protect the rights of the people.

Townhall: FBI Investigating Hillary Clinton's Use of Private Email To Send and Receive Classified Information

Last week the New York Times reported two Inspectors General recommended the Department of Justice look into the security of Hillary Clinton's private email server and asked it be determined whether she kept, sent or received classified information that could have been compromised by an outside source. 

Two inspectors general have asked the Justice Department to open an investigation into whether sensitive government information was mishandled in connection with the personal email account Hillary Rodham Clinton used as secretary of state, senior government officials said Thursday.

The request follows an assessment in a June 29 memo by the inspectors general for the State Department and the intelligence agencies that Mrs. Clinton’s private account contained “hundreds of potentially classified emails.” The memo was written to Patrick F. Kennedy, the under secretary of state for management.

Now, the FBI is looking into it. From the Washington Post: 

The FBI has begun looking into the security of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s private e-mail setup, contacting in the past week a Denver-based technology firm that helped manage the unusual system, according to two government officials.

Also last week, the FBI contacted Clinton’s lawyer, David Ken­dall, with questions about the security of a thumb drive in his possession that contains copies of work e-mails Clinton sent during her time as secretary of state.
The inquiries by the FBI follow concerns from government officials that potentially hundreds of e-mails that passed through Clinton’s private server contained classified or sensitive information. At this point, the probe is preliminary and is focused on ensuring the proper handling of classified material.

Nick Merrill, a spokesman for Clinton’s campaign, declined to comment on the FBI’s actions. He noted that Clinton has called repeatedly for the State Department to release her e-mails to the public, a process that is ongoing.

In a statement, Merrill said that Clinton “did not send nor receive any emails that were marked classified at the time. We want to ensure that appropriate procedures are followed as these emails are reviewed while not unduly delaying the release of her emails. We want that to happen as quickly and as transparently as possible.”

We learned earlier this week that Clinton did in fact store classified information from at least five different intelligence agencies on her private server, which by the way, is illegal.

RECAP TOWN COUNCIL MEETING – AUGUST 4th, 2015

The following is a summary of last night’s Town Council meeting.  Councilors Bickford and Crafts were excused.   The following is under Council Orders, Resolutions and Ordinances:

1.   Fuel pumps – Security Cameras – The Council approved, by a vote of 5-0, for the Public Works Director to go out for bids on Security Cameras.

2.  Winter Salt Purchase – The Council approved, by a vote of 5-0, to purchase salt at $61.44 through AVCOG.

3.  Consideration of Acceptance of Fairbanks Road – The Council tabled this agenda item, by a vote of 5-0, for the road to be inspected by an Engineer to make sure it meets Town standards.  Also need to check with CMP.

4.  Maine Downtown Center Network Community Agreement – The Council approved $1,000.00 from the Economic Community Development budget, by a vote of 5-0.

5.  Renewal Mass Gathering/Itinerant Vendor Permit – Positive Change Lisbon (PCL) – The Council approved this by a vote of 5-0.

6.  Renewal Mass Gathering/Itinerant Vendor Permit – Riverside Flea Market – The Council approved this by a vote of 5-0.

7.  Solicit bids for fuel – The Council gave the Town Manager permission to negotiate fuel prices in order to get the best price by a vote of 5-0.

8.  Set Registrar hours & casting of absentee ballot for November 3, 2015 election – This was approved by the Council 5-0.

9.  Fireworks Ordinance (First Reading) – The first reading was approved by a vote of 5-0.

Under Other Business the Town Manager announced the paving for part of Route 196, Webster Road and Ferry Road last night.

Under Audience Participation &; Response New Items – The Library Director announced the temporary hours for the Library.

Under Appointments – David Bowie was appointed as Chairman of the Ethics Panel.  Lynette Carver was appointed to the Lisbon Cemetery Committee.

Under Councilor Communications – Chairman Pesce announced that the paperwork needed to pay for the GYM has been completed and the town is paying for the GYM.  Also, the Finance Director is now allowed to attend Construction meetings.

The Council moved into Executive Session to discuss Acquisition or disposition of real property or economic development and Labor Negotiations.

Donald Trump is the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination in part because of his remarkable boldness and a self-confidence.

He showed this again during a phone appearance on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday. He told host Jonathan Karl that President Barack Obama had done “absolutely nothing” for the black community.

Father O'Malley rose from his bed one morning.

It was a fine spring day in his new Washington D.C. parish.

He walked to the window of his bedroom to get a deep breath of the beautiful day outside.

He then noticed there was . . . a donkey lying dead in the middle of his front lawn.

He promptly called the White House .

The conversation went like this:

"Good morning this is Barrack Obama, how might I help you?"

"And the best of the day te yerself, this is Father O'Malley at St. Ann's Catholic Church.

There's a donkey lying dead on me front lawn and would ye be so kind as to send a couple o'yer lads to take care of the matter?"

Barrack, considering himself to be quite a wit and recognizing the Irish accent, thought he would have a little fun with the good father, replied, "Well now Father, it was always my impression that you people took care of the last rites!"

There was dead silence on the line for a moment, then
Father O'Malley then replied...

"Aye, 'tis certainly true, but we are also obliged to notify the next of kin first, which is the reason for me call."

BREAKING: Fifth Video Shows Planned Parenthood Official Willing to Sell Whole Baby Bodies For Intact Parts

A fifth undercover video just released by the Center for Medical Progress shows Director of Research for Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast Melissa Farrell discussing how abortionists "adjust" abortion procedures to keep entire baby bodies [cadavers] intact in order to best provide, and sell, wanted body parts.

"We can get creative about when and where, and under what conditions we can um, interject something that is specific to the tissue procurement needs," Farrell says. "If we alter our process, we are able to obtain intact fetal cadavers, then we can make it part of the budget that any dissections are this, and splitting the specimens in different shipments in this. I mean, that's, it's all just a matter of line items."

"Take whatever they want," Farrell added about the benefits of selling whole baby bodies, preferably at 22 weeks of age [5 1/2 months].
