The article heading from the Sun Journal is misleading. What was passed was the Budget Committee's recommendation. The final budget will be voted on by the County Commissioners in Dec. One other thing to note, the committee met on 5 or 6 other evenings to come to the recommended budget. Last night was an opportunity for public input (which there was none). As there was no input, the committee kept the same recommedation as it had.
Time to use the Sheriffs Department and disband or severely curtail the Lisbon PD. The amount paid to the County is staggering and we should be using this resource to ease our tax burden.
