Black Lives Matter and pro-illegal alien Latino activists were forcibly removed by Virginia State Police officers after disrupting a rally held Wednesday evening in Richmond by leading Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

There were reports that ‘small fights’ had broken out between the protesters and Trump supporters.

LISBON — Superintendent Richard Green told the School Committee on Tuesday night that the new Lisbon High School gymnasium is scheduled to be completed by Oct. 21.

 

The $4-plus million project is expected to be finished almost two weeks before voters go to the polls a fourth time to approve a school budget for 2015-16.

BREWER, Maine — Rockport resident Skip Small, who already owns a 10 mm Glock pistol, went into Van Raymond Outfitters on Wednesday to buy another handgun in anticipation of the new concealed carry law that takes effect Thursday in Maine.
“I wanted the smaller version of the gun I have,” Small said. “It’s smaller and easier to conceal.

Small, who has a concealed handgun permit, purchased a Glock 43, a new 9 mm pistol with a six-round magazine.

LOYALTY TO WHOM

Loyalty is a wonderful attribute to have when utilized properly.  On October 6, 2015, the Town Council held a meeting and on the agenda was the question of Dispatch Consolidation.  The question was should Lisbon give its support to Sheriff Samson to consolidate the Lisbon Communication Center with the Androscoggin County Dispatch.

This project was in the infant stage.  Nothing was final and no contracts had been signed.  However, Sheriff Samson had requested the County Commissioners approve a $225,000 budget for this project.  This project was moving very fast as all project do in the infant stage however there was no firm commitments being signed other than the town was supporting this project.

Here is the crux of the project:  Which situation provides the fastest and most efficiency method of dispatching?

A.   Emergency Calls (911) come to Androscoggin County Dispatch (PSAP) and Androscoggin County Dispatch dispatch the Lisbon’s First Responders.

 

B.    Emergency Calls (911) come to Androscoggin County Dispatch (PSAP) and Androscoggin County Dispatch relay the information to the Lisbon Communication Center to dispatch Lisbon’s First Responders.

Chief Brooks has been against this project from the beginning because he would lose half of this department.  He has tried to sabotage the project at every turn.  However, on October 6, 2015, Chief Brooks brought in numerous individuals, including three former Chairs of the Town Council and others in support of keeping dispatch just the antiquated way it is today.  Please do not get me wrong, Lisbon Dispatch does an outstanding and are an asset to the community.  These dispatchers would be transferred to Androscoggin County Dispatch to continue their great service.   

As it turned out, the Chairman Pesce and the Town Council voted to not only withdraw their support to the county; they voted to kill the project.  This goes to show that they, along with their former Chairs, choose Option B in response to the question above.  All of the individuals that chose Option B should ask a friend to check for a pulse because they are “BRAIN DEAD” on this issue.  If you cannot see the value in going ahead slowly with this project, then you too have no clue in life.

These individuals, I believe, voted and supported Chief Brooks out of loyalty to the Chief instead of loyalty to the community.  When you become a Councilor or a former Councilor, it is crucial that all decisions you make are in the best interest of the community and have nothing to do with your personal feelings.  You represent all the people and as such need to vote what is best for all.  This was not done in this case.

Please call your Councilors and the Town Manager, and voice your opinion on moving this project forward so the Town of Lisbon can get out of the dark ages and move forward.  If we want to grow as a community, it is critical we keep up with technology and use it to our advantage.

Support Consolidation of the Androscoggin County Dispatch and Lisbon Communication Center to improve our lives.

A Lisbon couple whose son was killed by a fatigued truck driver 22 years ago will continue their years of work advocating for safe highways as they head to Washington DC in the coming days for the National Truck Safety Conference.

Daphne and Steve Izer will join dozens of truck crash victims and their families at the Truck Safety Coalition’s biennial Sorrow to Strength conference Oct. 17-20. Victims and their families will meet with members of Congress and their staff to encourage lawmakers to reject anti-truck safety provisions under consideration on Capitol Hill, and to push for positive changes in truck safety.

I guess Face the Nation or some other liberal media outlet asked if he carried a gun and Trump told the truth… that he does indeed at times carry a gun on his person for self-protection. Trump is wealthy, a celebrity and now a political rock star. He’d be dumb as a box of rocks if he wasn’t packing. He has body guards all around him – the best in the business. But there is literally no substitute for being armed yourself. Sometimes the only one that can save you, is you. The liberals act mortified and shocked over this. Are you people really that stupid? Or do you lack common sense and self-preservation skills? More likely, they are just brazenly dishonest. Geez.

GOPDD: Marine Ordered to Remove His US Flag… OR ELSE!

24-year-old Gregory Schaffer — a U.S. Marine — was recently ordered by officials to remove the American flag outside of his Florida home.

Shortly after returning from Iraq, the Marine was told that the flag was violating the town’s permitting code. A neighbor had filed a complaint with the town.

Schaffer said, “It’s sad. It’s sad that we have to go through that just to fly a flag.”

He continued, “It’s disgusting that anybody should have to go through that. I fought for the flag, now I’m paying for the flag.”

BDN: Maine health care providers, hospitals prepared for coding challenge

The American College of Sports Medicine says 25,000 people sprain their ankles every day in the United States. Under the new ICD-10 coding system, a person's treatment for an ankle sprain will be given a code that is more specific to the injury than previous coding methods. 

AUGUSTA, Maine — Health care providers across the state began working Oct. 1 with a new system of medical codes that has them describing illnesses and injuries in more detail than ever before, and officials from hospitals and medical associations said earlier this week that they are prepared for the challenge.

At the beginning of this month, more than 100,000 new medical codes took effect in hospitals across the nation as part of the 10th revision of the International Classification of Diseases, or ICD-10. The revisions were made to keep up with changes in medical technology and patient treatment.

An email forwarded by Hillary Clinton to a colleague that identified a top CIA informant in Libya could trigger an intelligence investigation and add to concerns that she mishandled classified information, according to intelligence sources.

Clinton received an email in March 2011 from her longtime adviser Sidney Blumenthal that identified a covert Libyan source who was reportedly working with the CIA. Blumenthal said his business partner, the late former CIA agent Tyler Drumheller, had given the information to him.

Clinton forwarded the email over her personal server to a colleague, according to emails published on Thursday by Rep. Trey Gowdy (R., S.C.), chairman of the House select committee on Benghazi.

An intelligence source said that the email could trigger an investigation into whether any of the parties violated the Intelligence Identities Protection Act, calling the apparent disclosure “a couple steps above Valerie Plame.”

THIS YEAR’S CHARTER CHANGES!!!!

Members of the Town Council, every so often, decide our Charter does not provide them total control over the town.  This leads to the Council making changes to ensure they have total control. 

 Several years ago, it was to eliminate any possible chance of recalling a Councilor.  The Council added additional requirement to make it harder and to discourage the people from thinking about recalling a Councilor.  If you remember, the people have tried twice to recall a councilor and both times the effort failed.  They failed NOT because the majority of voters were not in favor of recalling the councilors but because there were not 30% of the voters in the last gubernatorial election voted.  It is impossible to reach 30% without the help of Two Priests, a Nun, a Rabbi and the Pope.  This means that in the Town of Lisbon there will never be a councilor recalled.   Adding additional requirements just ensured the people would not try.

Now, this year the Town Council is trying to ensure a Councilor can remain Chairman of the Town Council for his entire tenure on the Town Council.  This is another means to control the people.  The Chairman has complete control over the agenda and the meetings.  The Chairman can deny a person from speaking, throw a resident out of a meeting, and restrict any discussion he does not want.  In the current situation, members of the Council want Chairman Pesce to remain Chairman until the people vote him off the council.

Chairman Pesce has denied people from speaking and does not allow for any dialogue during the meeting regardless of how crucial the situation is.  This is the very reason it is important to keep the two one year terms limits.  It is vital to a strong council, if the town has fresh input from the Chair.  New Chairman means new thoughts, agendas and a refreshing new perspective on allowing the people to contribute in local government.

These no term limits apply to committees and boards.  The President of the United States is restricted to two terms.  Remember the town forefathers placed the two one term limits on the Chair position for a sound reason and it has worked well for years.  So if it NOT broke why change it!!!

Please do not let these Councilors manipulate you and weaken our town Charter any more.

LISBON FALLS, Maine — A local woman has been indicted on charges related to the sale of cocaine, according to the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Lana Raubeson, 64, was indicted Tuesday by a grand jury on a charge of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, according to public safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.
