GOPDD: MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry: Be ‘Super Careful’ About Saying ‘Hard Worker’ Because It Demeans Slaves

MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry chastised a Latino Republican guest on her show to be “super careful” when using the phrase “hard worker” to describe WHITE Republican Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wisc., the newly elected House GOP Speaker. Because I actually keep an image of folks working in cotton fields on my office wall,” she bragged, “because it is a reminder about what hard work really looks like.”

Caution: You may need a double dose of Excedrin to protect yourself from her brain-splitting nonsense.

CAN YOU PUT YOUR FINGER ON THE PROBLEM IN LISBON???

I have tried for years to find out where the problem lies in Lisbon. At first, I thought it was because our Councilors were brain-dead but I was wrong. After performing an analysis of voting by the Councilors, I have determined that the Councilors are not being provided all the information necessary to make a solid decision on numerous issues. I have narrowed it down to two Departments – Police and Public Works.

The Department Heads in these two departments do not provide the Council with complete information. These department heads only provide the Council with information to arrive at ONLY the decision the department head wants. These Councilors cannot come to any other conclusion based on the information provided.

The Town Manager and the Town Council must insist these department heads present ALL the facts on the issue so that the Councilors can make an educated decision instead of getting only half of the truth. A prime example of this is the Solid Waste Committee, Ryan Leighton, briefing the Council on the Pay-As-You-Throw (PAYT) option for the Transfer Station. As you can see, by the postings on lisbonmaine.net and the Lisbon Reporter; there were many many issues left out of the briefing. The lack of information can cause a good decision to turn bad.

Another example is the Town Council voting down the consolidation of the Lisbon Communication Center with the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) located at the Androscoggin County Dispatch. There was no mention that this program is part of a 6100 primary and secondary PSAPs located in the United States. The PSAP is part of the emergency services where the PSAP Dispatches First Responders in order to expedite response time. However, this information has never been released to the Council or the people of this community. The Lisbon Communication Center is an unnecessary additional procedure that delays response time. This delay puts the lives of every person in Lisbon, Durham, Sabattus and Greene at risk. This is another factor that is not known by the Council or the people of these communities.

The LisbonMaine.net and the Lisbon Reporter are dedicated to educating the community on issues. These issues are normally brought to the Councils attention without providing ALL the information to the Councilors and the people. In some cases, the people are asked to vote on issues without having all the information. Councilor Garrison made a comment about only one option was presented and I agree but both Joe Hill and I have seen subjects being voted on without having all the facts. Since our blog sites are dedicated solely to bringing ALL the information to the people, we will continue to provide facts to the community so when it comes before the Council for a vote, they and the people will have more information in which to make the right decision for the community.

It does not hurt for the people and the Town Council to be educated with ALL the facts available.

ISIS has a thing for killing and enslaving Christians. When Pamela Geller held her Draw Mohammed Art Exhibit in Garland, Texas and was attacked, it came as no surprise that the Jihadists were connected to ISIS. As Obama keeps the borders open and flies in hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees the attacks on Christians will get more frequent and more deadly here in the United States. Garland was just the first. A lot more are coming. Pamela lives under the constant threat of death now. Obama is refusing to call the cleansing in the Middle East of Christians genocide. I wonder what he’ll call it here. Acceptable? ISIS is actively recruiting youth in northern Texas. I’m sure that’s not just for kicks. This is not going to end well.

In the same time period, 49 percent of households headed by legal immigrants received welfare benefits, while 30 percent of households headed by natives received the same.

Rush Limbaugh made a rare TV appearance on Fox News Sunday today and had a lot to say about President Obama‘s strategy against ISIS (or, as Limbaugh put it, his lack of one).

Limbaugh said that the president’s foreign policy is “inept and incompetent and nonexistent,” telling Chris Wallace, “Barack Obama’s number one enemy is the Republican party and the conservative movement.” He even said there are serious questions about who the president considers to be America’s real enemies.

Obama is notorious for his hatred of all things Christian and trying to squelch it wherever he can. Having said that, Snopes claims this is a false allegation. On one front it is false, but on another it is true. You can’t trust Snopes. They’ve been caught in lie after lie and are funded by George Soros and his foundations. There may not have been an actual ban, but it might as well have been one with the way Christmas has been treated in the military. Obama has been getting rid of Chaplains from the military left and right. All because they profess their Christian faith. He’s done the same to soldiers who have been reprimanded and discharged, all in the name of diversity. There is an obvious double standard here. Christians are punished and disparaged while Muslims are not. Atheists are cool too. Gays are downright revered. Obama has directed that the military should not express their religious views and he’s directly referring to Christianity. That’s a fact even if an actual ban is not. It certainly applies to Christmas and the celebration of the birth of Jesus.

One of the selling points for PAYT (pay as you throw) trash programs is economic fairness. Why should you pay for other peoples wasteful ways.

In reality its more like you can have other people pay for your trash if you can afford a trash compactor.

Most modern compactors have a compaction rate of 80% .They will enable you to take five bags of trash and fit it into one neat little bag.

Don't think this won't be an issue if we go to PAYT. This method of circumvention is so common that a term for it was coined in Seattle a few decades ago, its called "The Seattle Stomp".

Reason #4 Why PAYT Trash Program is a bad Idea For Lisbon

Many if not all of the PAYT trash containers are Geo Tagged. A small RFID chip is added to the containers that can identify your address and with the aid of cameras on the trucks will ID your trash in case you don't use proper bags for your trash.
This technology over time can be used to keep track of recycling habits and could theoretically be used to fine us if we don't recycle enough trash.

A group calling itself the Bureau on American-Islamic Relations, or BAIR, gathered outside an Irving, Texas, mosque on Saturday, armed with AR-15s and claiming they were protesting “the Islamization of America” and the continued influx of Syrian refugees in the face of brutal Islamic terrorism.

According to KDFW-TV, the group picketing outside the Islamic Center of Irving numbered about 15. One carried a placard that said “Solution to Islamic terrorism,” with an arrow pointing to another protester — an armed man in fatigues.

Reason #3 ---- Illegal Dumping

This is one of the three illegal dumps I know of in Lisbon.

Proponents of PAYT (pay as you throw trash programs) will tell you PAYT doesn't increase illegal dumping, this is blatantly untrue.

Mr. Travis Blackmer, a researcher at the University of Maine who studies PAYT stated the following in a letter.

The towns utilizing PAYT confirmed our views. Towns that did not have PAYT had a consistent question: where does the waste go? Looking at a handful of towns we saw that waste tonnages were cut in half on average, but only 1/4 of that waste reduction ended up in the recycling stream. For larger Maine municipalities, that is over 100 tons of waste that had (or would be expected to) evaporate.

Does anyone doubt that a good percentage of the lost tonnage ends up in illegal dumps.

Call your Councilors and tell them you don't want illegal dumps in Lisbon.

Reason #2

Lisbon has many "Private Roads". Will trash collectors go down these private roads to pick up the trash or will senior residents be required to drag two large (64 gal.) containers down these snow covered roads to place them on town approved roads?

The first 5 homes on my street have driveways between 300ft. and 800ft. long, Will these people be required to hire trucks to get the large containers to the street?

Can you picture some of our narrow roads littered with trash containers blocking snow plows from clearing the snow. Will we be required to take these containers to designated parking lots on snow days?

According to the Solid Waste Committee Study Results "PAYT" will cost Lisbon residents $177,345 dollars more than what they are now spending on our existing solid waste system.

Remember what the Committee is calling $240,928 dollars in revenue is actually money Lisbon Residents will be spending on trash bags.

Cost of existing system $378,500 dollars.
Cost of PAYT system $555,845 dollars.
