Free Coffee House Concert At St. Matthew’s

Sequel, featuring Allan and Leanne Hewey

St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church on the hill off Route 196 in Lisbon is offering a free vintage Country Western and Praise Music Coffee House concert featuring Sequel on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 6 pm.

Sequel is a musical group featuring Allan and Leeanne Hewey, former Firefighter EMT and Paramedics who met in the back of an ambulance during an emergency call. Today they own a sign business and a marketing agency, Chief Lee Signs and Trinity Media Works in addition to performing and composing their own music. Since 2002, Sequel has performed throughout Mid Coast and Southern Maine and Lewiston/Auburn region.

“Many trials in life have helped us to write our songs inspired by our father in heaven, from raising teenagers to losing jobs, to losing loved ones. God has a plan and we are on the journey to see where He is taking us,” said Leeanne Hewey.
Allan grew up in his father’s Country Western band, The Hewey Bros., who performed in Central Maine in the 1960s and 1970s. Leeanne sang with Church since she was 12 years old and in High School in Maine’s All State Chorus.

The evening concert is open to all ages and St. Matthew’s parishioners will provide free desserts at both concerts. Audiences may give a loving donation.

St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, founded in 1906, is a vibrant growing congregation that brings together the four main threads of Anglican tradition: Anglo Catholic worship, evangelical preaching, charismatic expression and caring in action.
