at Lisbon High School
Sponsored by Lisbon High School and Mt. Blue High School
This year Lisbon High School’s Immersion Workshop Day has been planned for all students from both Lisbon and Mt. Blue High School who are in grades 9-12 who are taking ASL I and II. The event is designed to offer students expressive and receptive language practice in a real-world environment with hearing and native signers, and to learn more about Deaf cultural issues. This year we will also have a group of panelists to discuss the wide variety of employment opportunities for people with ASL skills.
The event is free for LHS and MBHS students, but ASL students from other schools and interested adults in the community are also welcome, with advance reservations. Students - $5, adults-$10. A pizza lunch will be available for an additional $2, also by advance reservations. Bottled water will be provided, but LHS does not have soda vending machines, so if you would like, you may bring your own drink.
For more information and reservations, please contact Gail Carlson (778-1786, johnandgail@beeline-online.net) or Lori Lewis (645-3945, lorilewis@myfairpoint.net).
