Lisbon – On Monday, April 13, 2009, The Lisbon School Committee, elected Richard Green as the interim superintendent of schools for the 2009-2010 school year. Green is a skilled educational leader who will work with others to create a foundation for Lisbon’s efforts to become an even higher performing and more efficient organization.
As part of the new Lisbon School Department superintendency which involves 1/3 curriculum time, Green will focus on areas of the curriculum and establishing communication with existing curriculum teams. It is the intention of the School Committee and Green that both the curriculum foundation and the framework which has already been laid will continue seamlessly into next year.
Communication and involvement are very important during this time of change and transition. Green will formally assume his duties on July 1, 2009. In the meantime he’ll be meeting with various staff, teams and work groups from administrators, central office staff, teachers, nurses and support staff, custodians, bus drivers and cafeteria workers in an effort to familiarize himself with the unique contributions each group makes to the Lisbon School System so that the start of the new school year will occur smoothly.
