Dear Andy Riordan:

Thank you for contacting AARP to express your interest on the issue
of Health Care Reform. AARP values the opinions shared by our
members. Your feedback helps shape our position on this issue.

Please note that we have not yet endorsed any comprehensive health
care reform bill. AARP is fighting for a solution that improves
health care for all our members. We have been working with leaders
from both sides of the aisle for many, many months, and we will
continue to do so. We know that the final package will include a mix
of ideas from both parties and both houses of Congress.

For more than 50 years, we've been fighting on behalf of older
Americans and we don't intend to stop now. We will continue to
challenge misinformation and distortion. We urge you to get the facts
about health reform and learn about the latest myths and scare
tactics. For more information, go to www.aarp.org/getthefacts.

Sincerely,

Victoria

One of the disclosures I found involving AARP should be in the
Lewiston paper in the next few days. They are blatantly lying about areas
that haven't been resolved yet. If you watch Glen Beck on Cable Fox news,
You will learn how even Our Senators aren't even looking out for us.. You are on
your own. Try reaching Susan Collins. She's hiding somewhere. Olympia is
one that both parties are tugging at, to go their way. It's just a farce.

Subj: AARP and Seniors

It appears that your paper is pro-Obama;however, the information coming out from AARP first endorsed Obama's plan, which called for a substantial reduction from Medicare in the Billions then they claimed on a radio spot yesterday, after a loss of 60,000 members, they were not going to.

I wrote to them to thank them and then, in the mail today, was a very impressive infomercial card stating certain myths and facts about the Health Reform.

They claim that:

Fact: Reform will not hurt Medicare.

Fact: Reform will not mean life/death involvement of the Gov't.

Fact: Rationed care will not happen.

The real fact is just the opposite.

There are still many different plans and many include the above which AARP claims are myths. AARP has 40,000,000 seniors and their votes have been just about promised to Obama. Let the Seniors decide and publish this for the sake of all the seniors in our area.
