Lisbon - Have you ever wanted to go to New York to see a
Broadway Show? Maybe you’d like to see a production of Annie?
One doesn’t have to travel all the way to NYC to see Annie. This
weekend The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow right here in Lisbon! The
Lisbon High School Drama Club will be performing the timeless classic, Annie
Jr. If you haven’t seen the movie Annie, the storyline is about an
orphan girl who never gives up hope of finding her real parents. “I
believe a drama program is important for many reasons: Drama provides an
opportunity for students to learn self-discipline, to work together with others
as an ensemble. Students learn how to control their bodies through choreography
and movement, and how to memorize quickly,” shares Lisbon High School
Drama Advisor, Jennifer Fox. “Students who participate in drama
gain self-confidence by performing in front of an audience, as well as
leadership skills. Students learn all they can and help those who are new to
acting. A drama program allows students to give back to their community
and foster pride in their school.” “I am so grateful to
be the Advisor for the LHS Drama Club and have the opportunity to work with
such a talented group of students,” said Fox. The curtain will go up at
the Lisbon High School Gym on Friday, November 13 and Saturday, November 14 at
7:00 pm, and again on Sunday, November 15 at 2:00 pm. Tickets for the show are
a $3 donation. FMI Jenifer Fox at 353-3030, email jfox@lisbonschoolsme.org.
Tickets will also be available at the door. The score of the show includes some
of Broadways’ most memorable songs including, It’s a Hard Knock
Life, Easy Street, and N.Y.C. You won’t want to miss this
classic production, get your tickets today!
