Lead By Example: Transparency In Education

"New Website Tracks Education Data -- and Promotes an Agenda

A conservative think-tank in Maine has launched a new Website to track all things education: from spending and school performance data to education reforms and reviews of individual schools. The site does have an agenda, but may prove to be easier to navigate than the Department of Education's.

The Portland-based, conservative Maine Heritage Policy Center calls its new site GreatSchoolsForME.org.

"And on this page, you'll be able to go in and see the kind of data behind me here which really breaks down the spending that goes on in school districts," says Stephen Bowen, director of the Center for Education Excellence at the Maine Heritage Policy Center"
