Lisbon HS 2nd Qtr Awards Announced‏

 Students of the Quarter at Lisbon High School Awards were presented by Principal Ken Healy during a recent assembly.  Pictured L-R:  Kayla Angelico, Sarah Giraldo, Healey, and Ashley Johnston.

Lisbon – Lisbon High School Principal Ken Healey, announced the Students of the Quarter at a school-wide assembly on Wednesday, February 24.  Families of the recipient’s were also invited to attend the award ceremony.  Students are nominated by teachers based on their outstanding achievements academically, overall character, willingness to assist others, represent a positive role model to peers, and their pride in school. 

“Freshman, Kayla Angelico, daughter of Tina and Frank Angelico of Lisbon Falls.   Kayla was nominated because she possesses a dynamic personality and gives her all to everything she does.  Kayla is devoted to soccer, and was named MVC All-Star her first season in high school,” shared Healey.

“Sophomore student of the quarter, Sarah Giraldo, daughter of Mary and Heran Giraldo of Lisbon Falls, is a very conscientious student receiving high honors this last quarter,” commented Healey.    “Outside of school Sarah plays violin, is an active Young Adult Volunteer in the Community, and assists with her Church youth group.”

“The Junior Student of the Quarter is a student who will always gives you a smile and a big hello.  She is an outstanding school citizen who assists teachers, staff members, fellow students and her community.  This student also challenges herself academically taking several honors classes.  She is a Young Adult Volunteer, and very involved as a class officer for the Class of 2011's as Vice-President.  The Junior Student of the Quarter at LHS is Ashley Johnston,” according to Healey.  Ashley is the daughter of Edith and Mark Johnston of Lisbon.

“Senior Student of the Quarter was nominated for this honor because she is a friendly, helpful, caring dependable person who takes pride in everything,” said Healey.  “LHS is proud to have this student represent us in soccer, women’s basketball and track.  Caitin Gamache, is a very active member of the Senior Student Government and is the daughter of Richard Gamache of Lisbon.
