Lewiston
– On Thursday, August 18, members of Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club
welcomed Lisbon High School Interact Member, Jennifer Clifford.
Jennifer was the guest speaker for the noon luncheon meeting. A member
of the LHS Class of 2014 Clifford shared her quest – a trip to Ecuador
through the Me to We program. Nine months ago, thirteen Lisbon
students, parents and two teachers developed a mission to “enliven the
spirits of their town and community by building opportunities overseas,”
according to Clifford. Students will have an opportunity to assist
with building a school in rural Chimborazo province while attending
daily leadership and Spanish lessons. Students presented their vision
to the Lisbon School Committee and are working hard seeking outside
funding throughout the business community. The time line for the trip
is departing February 2012 for the twelve days in Ecuador. FYI contact
