The PW Sugg Greyhounds displayed some of their most excellent
skills yet as they soundly defeated the Monmouth Mustangs in an away
game rematch ending 3-0. Too well the 'Hounds remembered the sting of
the previous match's loss to the Mustangs in the last 25 seconds of
play but this time things would be different.
Everything Lisbon did was right on. This was evidenced in the
first score just 5 minutes into the game where Lisbon advanced the
ball with pass after pass until one from the foot of Bradley Boulet
found Kyle Welsh who finessed it right into the goal. Lisbon's second
goal was fired in from the Right Wing, Nick Huston, allowing the
'Hounds to close out the first half with a more comfortable lead.
The match remained as vigorous in the second half with
tremendous field work by Austin Fournier whose repeated rifle-like
shots kept the Mustangs scrambling while teammate Kyle Welsh was able
to put another one in the net. Defenders like Jacob Fusaro maintained
an unyielding defense only allowing three opponent shots on goal, none
of which got by Keeper Nate Bergeron.
Celebrating their 3rd shutout of the season, the [4-5-1] 'Hounds
next match will be home, Thursday, October 27 against Winthrop.
