Lisbon
- The induction ceremony for the Worumbo Chapter of the National Honor
Society (NHS) was held on the evening of Wednesday, October 26 at Lisbon
High School. Sixteen students from the classes of 2012 and 2013 were
recognized by family, friends, and faculty for their outstanding
accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and
character. The evening’s keynote speaker’s speech prepared by Ron Hood
from Big Brothers Big Sisters, was delivered by NHS Advisor, Lynne
Gervais. Hood was unable to attend and deliver his speech personally
due to an unexpected emergency. “Mr. Hood prepared an inspiring and
thought provoking message to students,” shares Gervais. As NHS
members, students will continue to demonstrate their commitment to
helping others as they perform both individual and group service
projects throughout the year. A number of inductees are members of the
Lisbon Young Adult Volunteer / Interact Club. FMI on projects and other
