Maine Romney Operatives Caught Handing Out FAKE Ron Paul Delegate Lists!!!

Mitt Romney operatives try to divide the votes that Ron Paul supporters were to cast for delegates to the RNC in Tampa, during the Maine GOP Convention. They did so by circulating not one, but two different slates, to make Paul voters think there had been a change in the official list of delegate nominees that were being endorsed by the Ron Paul campaign. And they got caught.

Update: At the convention on Sunday, he was in attendance, and wearing a name tag that read "Charlie" but the last name was covered. He had a green "volunteer" ribbon on his badge.

Addendum: The push continues by the Romney campaign.

Saturday night at the dinner held after the first day, Mitt Romney's brother spoke, asking for "unity" in the party. However the following day it was reported that Mitt Romney had sent their top lawyer to Maine to get the results of the Maine GOP convention thrown out. So much for unity.

News report is here, short interview I gave is also a part of the piece. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=96ThN6coPqQ

The report mentions that Charlie Webster, current head of the Maine GOP complained about the vote. Many of the Paul people are upset with Charlie for the way he ran the caucuses and the way he has belittled the Paul supporters. However...

Following the convention Sunday night, he met with the delegates to the RNC, (including me, as I was elected as an alternate) and said that he knew that there would be a challenge to the Maine delegation (of which he is a member) but that "didn't have anything to do with me," and that he would "fight for this group," and we should just move forward and prepare to go to Tampa. He was very nice, and even seemed cheerful, and he and Linda Bean (of LL Bean) who is a part of the delegation, exchanged hugs and said they had been friends for decades. So we will see what happens.

Stay tuned to Maine.
