C.N. Brown Company enters electricity market to save Mainers money

Plus “C.N. Brown Rewards” will provide discounts to loyal customers

South Paris, Maine— C.N. Brown Company has expanded its array of affordable energy options by offering low-cost electricity to Mainers. In areas currently serviced by CMP, C. N. Brown Electricity offers a rate of .0681, while areas serviced by Bangor Hydro, C. N Brown Electricity’s rate is .06689 per kilowatt hour

“It’s simple,” said Jinger Duryea, President of C.N. Brown Company. “In addition to being extremely competitive in the electricity market, we plan to offer our loyal customers deep discounts on other product lines in our business.   Trust me; our customers are going to love bundling with us this winter!”

“In addition to our great electricity rate, our customers will enjoy an additional 5 cents off per gallon on C.N. Brown’s “Red Shield” Heating Oil, K-1 or Propane cash price,” said Jeffrey Jones, President of C.N. Brown Electricity.

“The LePage Administration applauds C.N. Brown, a Maine-based, company that already offers competitive heating oil prices in Maine for the company’s long-range plans to bring competition and lower prices to the electricity market,” said Ken Fletcher, director of Governor’s Energy Office.

A family business with 65 years of experience in keeping customers happy, C.N. Brown Company now operates 78 Big Apple Food Stores, 27 Red Shield Heating Oil locations and 20 gasoline service stations.

C.N. Brown Company sells a range of energy products, including: branded and unbranded gasoline, heating oil, propane, kerosene, diesel fuel for both on road and off road, wood pellets and natural gas. Providing low-cost electricity is the next step in providing loyal customers with all of their energy needs.

As an added bonus, in mid-January the company will introduce “C.N. Brown Rewards”, a new loyalty program that will heap additional discounts and savings on customers, according to Sue Goulet, loyalty coordinator and project manager for C.N. Brown Company.

Initially, discounts and savings will apply to customers who make purchases at the Big Apple Food Stores throughout Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. The second phase will include purchases at C.N. Brown’s service stations, Red Shield Heating Oil locations, and C.N. Brown Electricity. More information may be found at www.cnbrownrewards.com.

“I don’t believe anyone will be able to offer their customers a better deal on their overall energy needs, plus we’re from Maine!” added Ken Cannell, supply manager for C.N. Brown.
