Perhaps a few of you are wondering why I no longer speak, ask
questions or make comments at town council meetings.
Maybe
more than a few are grateful that I am no longer speaking, asking
questions or
making comments. For those last, you can now scroll down, this does not pertain
to you.
The
Town Council recently changed the council rules, again.
Now, if a person would like to speak, ask a question, or make a
comment at a council meeting, that person has to meet with the town council, or to be more
precise,
Council Chair Fern Larochelle, prior
to said council meeting.
Any
question or comment must be pertinent to an item on the
agenda, and
approved by the council. Most councilors straggle in
minutes before a meeting, so I
feel safe in assuming all allowed topics have to be approved by Mr.
Larochelle.
This,
my friends, is censorship.
To
be censored before being allowed to speak is the loss of a
freedom.
We,
the Citizens and Taxpayers of the Town of Lisbon, have lost the privilege of
Free Speech.
What's
next???????????????????
Will
we have to ask permission to attend Town Council meetings?
Will
we have to ask permission to attend council and budget
workshops?

Chairman LaRochelle is retaliating because an error by the town determined LaRochelle Properties, LLC had been receiving a Homestead Exemption erroneously for year. Instead of doing what is right and pay the back taxes, interest and penalties, Chairman LaRochelle only paid part of the back taxes, no interest and no penalties. He did this because we kept bringing this up and he could no longer run from it. Since Chairman LaRochelle had to pay back taxes, he has silenced the people because he is afraid of what else we will find. Chairman LaRochelle does not want the members of the council, town manager or Chief of Police embarrassed publicly.
Dotty Doo Doo- you are responsible for this- thank you
This town has gone down the drain
.cant have seven people making decisions for the whole town.
