 I have been attending town council meetings and workshops, budget meetings and workshops,

for quite a few years. And now intend to attend finance committee meetings, when they are posted,

published.  Why? This is my town.

As many of you know, I was on the Budget Advisory Board for several years, an elected position.

 

Budget changes are made at each budget meeting and workshop. Nothing substantial, just moving

a few $$$$$ from one department or line item to another. At each budget meeting and workshop 

an updated Town Manager Budget Recommendation is provided to Council and, in the past, members

of the Advisory Board.

 

This year, all that has changed. 

Well, maybe not all, but some things have surely changed.

 

Budget changes are still made at each meeting and workshop, again nothing substantial, just moving a few bucks from one department or line item to another. No real cuts in the budget.

 

The big change is that at the end of the budget meeting/workshop ALL updated Town Manager Budget Recommendations are collected.

                              EACH AND EVERY ONE!!!

 

Could it be that Town Manager Steve Eldridge does not want one to fall into the wrong hands? And that perhaps it gets published on The Lisbon Reporter?

 

The town budget, the services provided by your taxes, the money spent, my friends, is YOUR MONEY!!!

 

                Why is the budget such a big secret this year?????
