How does your annual income compare to the Lisbon Police Department?

HOW DOES YOUR ANNUAL SALARY COMPARE TO THE GOOD OLD BOYS NETWORK??????

How does your annual income compare to the Lisbon Police Department?  But first let’s try and define how salaries are determined.  In a normal society, salaries are determined by several factors, such as:

  1.       The amount a business can afford.

  2.       The responsibility of the position.

  3.       The credentials required for the position.

  4.       The degree of danger that goes with the position.

  5.       Experience.

I know that I have not listed all of the requirements to hold the position but I believe I have hit the most important.  So now we are prepared to see how this compares to the salaries of the Lisbon Police Department.

This listing of salaries of the Lisbon Police Department was extracted from the 2011-2012 Annual Report.  DO NOT FORGET THAT IN 2012-2013 OUR TOWN COUNCIL APPROVED A 2% WAGE INCREASE ON THESE SALARIES AND IN 2013-2014 THEY APPROVED ANOTHER 1.5% WAGE INCREASE ON THESE SALARIES.

Now we are ready to talk about these salaries.   

First note that Sergeant Harry Moore Jr. receives $70,209.46 and Chief Brooks receives $70,455.21.  What’s wrong with this picture?   

Next, Lieutenant Daniel Michel receives $61, 574.80 and Sergeant Harry Moore Jr. receives $70,209.46; Sergeant Scott Stewart receives $67,063.65; Officer Richard St. Amant receives $61,852.68 and finally Detective Bernard McAllister receives $65,244.59.  Detective McAllister retired once and was rehired the same day at the same salary.  This is one hell of a Chain of Command for a department.  The second in command is the lowest paid among these individuals.  

I do not know any command where a Lieutenant makes less than a Sergeant.   But to me, the most shocking is that Denise Bowie receives $41,445.76 as an Administrative Assistant; while Officer Ryan McGee receives $40,764.61.  You can thank Mike Bowie and Chief Brooks for Denise’s salary. In what world does an Administrative Assistant make more money than a Police Officer who puts his life on the line every day?  These are your tax dollars at work.

Can anyone out there tell me which individuals on this list are members of the Good Old Boys network and which ones are not?
