It got postponed to a later date, High fives to the voters, to many people showed up!!! Guess the
council can't railroad this one.
While I still dislike Anonymous posts, I will ask one question, what exactly was being railroaded? The hearing is simply to discuss putting a referendum for bond out to the voters.
If you are referring to the special election, while I understand the idea for it, at least two of the councilors if not more were not in favor of it before the meeting. Given the concerns presented even in the limited number of public comments I do not believe it would have passed.
While I agree a larger number of people showed up than expected, we had already scheduled the meeting for the Town Office on all of the public notices and changing the location would have been inappropriate if not illegal.
Well since I wasn't there because I forgot about it, I am truly happy there were so many citizens there to make sure they didn't decide right then and there to vote to purchase. From what I understand the owner has asked for a permit to tear it down but the Town hasn't given him/her one. Is this actually true, I don't know but if it is, why haven't then given her one?
