Related to Tax transparency:
Maine's Citizen Trade Policy Commission is doing an excellent job but it's hampered by the refusal of the US Trade Representative not disclosing the content of the negotiations for the Trans-Atlantic Trade & Investment Agreement or TTIP.

The recent Assessment of TTIP’s Impact on Maine’s Agriculture and Food System by Karen Hansen-Kuhn, Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy and John Piotti, Maine Farmland Trust, is of interest here because Maine could be hit hard by benign neglect or rules that ignored our realities.  Report available at http://www.maine.gov/legis/opla/CTPCDraftTTIP2014.pdf

If you don't have time to read it, give it to your favorite farmer, if he doesn't already have it.
