Maine Constitutional Carry Bill

The fight is far from over.

L.D. 652, the Constitutional Carry bill, had a public hearing last week, but now it has to survive a crucial work session and vote in the Joint Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety.

If passed, Constitutional Carry would simply affirm that if you can legally possess a weapon, you have the right to carry it concealed for self-defense - without having to beg the government for permission first.

The committee work session for the bill is this Friday, April 17, at 1 p.m.

Tell them the citizens of Maine shouldn’t have to beg for government permission to exercise their rights, and they should pass L.D. 652 as written.

Insiders have warned me that some on the committee want to tear this bill to shreds and move forward with anti-gun language instead.
