RECAP TOWN COUNCIL MEETING – APRIL 21ST


This was an extremely short and sweet meeting.  However, it was business as usual.  The following items under Council Orders, Resolutions & Ordinances were approved by a vote of 7-0:

1.      FY-13 Homeland Security Grant Supplemental Funds Acceptance & Use of Forfeiture Funds.  The funds receive exceeded what was expected by $345.84 so the Council approved $5,529.03 of forfeiture funds.

2.     FY-13 Homeland Security Grant Supplemental Funds Acceptance was for $2,850.00.  These funds were approved for the purchase of emergency signs and portable radios.

3.     Commitment of Sewer Rates – This was more of an administrative action to direct the town to collect these sewer rates going back to September 1, 2014.

4.     School Budget Validation Referendum Warrant – This was approved with little discussion.

5.     Ch. 70 Zoning Map & Sec. 70-531 Table of Land Uses (First Reading) – This was presented by the Planning Board to clean up some administrative errors.

6.     Ch. 70 Sec. 70-115 Officers and Duties (First Reading) – This was tabled to July.

7.     Ch. Administrative Div. 2 Finance Committee (First Reading) – This was approved with little discussion.

Under Town Manager’s Report – summer passes for Beaver Park can be purchased at the Town Office and the MTM Center.  Mrs. Barnes also briefed the Council on additional changes to the Municipal Budget to include cutting the Police and Public Works budget’s by $100,000.00 each.  The Council discussed the parking problems on the Androscoggin River Trail and directed Mrs. Barnes to look into a solutions for parking.

 Mr. Mark Stevens was appointed Parks Director to combine the Recreation and Parks Departments.
