Though President Barack Obama is the commander in chief of the U.S. armed forces, he hasn’t done anything whatsoever to bring home a jailed U.S. Marine who has been held captive in an Iranian prison cell for over three years.
To begin the process of bringing home Amir Hekmati, a former Marine Corps sergeant, a large group of lawmakers has banded together to sidestep Obama’s dereliction of duty in an attempt to convince Iran to free him.
