On Tuesday night, the Town
Council held its regular meeting.
Chairman Bickford did an excellent job moving it right along. The following is a summary of the meeting:
Under Council Orders,
Resolutions, & Ordinances –
1. Durham Dispatch
Agreement – The Council approved the agreement by a vote of 7-0.
2. Sewer Acquired Redemption – The Council approved for
the Town Manager to send out notifications of redemption by a vote of 7-0.
3. Freedom of Access Act (FOAA) Policy – The Council
approved the policy by a vote of 7-0.
4. Surplus Property Disposal – The Council approved the
sale of two vehicles by a vote of 7-0.
5. Maine Electronics Industrial Wastewater Discharge
Permit – The Council approved the permit by a vote of 6-1. The one no vote came from Councilor Albert.
6. 2015 Byrne/JAG Award – The Council approved the
purchase of bullet proof vests for 3 reserve officers in the amount of
$1,988.00 by a vote of 7-0.
7. 2016 Evidence Based Impaired Driving High Visibility
Enforcement Grant – The Council accepted $3,879.00 in grant money by a vote of
7-0.
8. CDBG Micro-Enterprise Grant Letter of Intent – The
Council approved and authorized the Town Manager to sign the letter of intent
by a vote of 7-0.
9. CDBG Downtown Revitalization Grant Letter of Intent –
The Council approved and authorized the Town Manager to sign the letter of
intent by a vote of 7-0.

2015-2016 School Budget Warrant Articles 1-9 –
The Council approved the majority of the articles by a vote of 7-0, however,
there were a couple of articles the council voted 4-3 on. The three no votes were the three new
Councilors Kolbe, Albert and Ward. There
appears to be a difference of $83,000.00 separating the Town and School.

School Budget Validation Referendum Warrant –
The Council approved by a vote of 7-0.

Town Departments
Christmas Schedule – The Council approved the Christmas Schedule by a vote of
7-0.
Under Other Business – The
Public Works Director Ryan Leighton provided a Department Head Report to the
Council. Also Tracey Steuber gave a
Department Head Report to the Council on the Economic Community Development
Department.
Under Appointments – Rick
Roberts was approved as Warden in Ward 2 and Sheila Gray was appointed Warden
in Ward 1.
