I'M WONDERING WHY SPEED LIMIT SIGNS
ARE POSTED OVER OVER TOWN WHEN THEY ARE NOT OBSERVED AND OBEYED?
THIS MORNING, WELL NEARER TO NOON,
A WOMAN BLEW ONTO SCHOOL STREET
FROM ROUTE 196. MUST HAVE BEEN
GOING AT LEAST 45 MPH.
NEED I MENTION THAT THE SPEED LIMIT
ON SCHOOL STREET, AS ON ALL RESIDENTIAL
STREETS IS 25 MPH! !
THIS MORNING ON LISBON FACEBOOK
SOMEONE MENTIONED A VEHICLE SCREECHING
TIRES ON REID STREET.
AFTER A RECENT TOWN COUNCIL MEETING I
MENTIONED TO COUNCILOR ROGER BICKFORD
THAT ON A RECENT SUNDAY AFTERNOON TWO
VEHICLES WERE DRAG RACING ON SCHOOL STREET.
COUNCILOR ERIC METIVIER THOUGHT THAT WAS
SO FUNNY ! ! ! ! !
I DO NOT SEE ANYTHING FUNNY ABOUT SPEEDING.
5 MPH OVER THE LIMIT, ACCEPTABLE? MAYBE.
10, 15, 20 MPH OVER THE LIMIT? ESPECIALLY
IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS! NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!
MY PROPERTY IS ON THE ROUTE 196 END OF
SCHOOL STREET. THE MTM CENTER WITH A PLAYGROUND AND DAY CARE IS ON THE MAIN STREET END.
WOULD IT BE SO FUNNY IF A CHILD, OR ANYONE,
WAS HIT BY A SPEEDING VEHICLE WHILE CROSSING
THE STREET, ERIC?
I KNOW THE POLICE CANNOT BE IN ALL PLACES
AT ALL TIMES. IT IS UP TO EVERY AND ALL DRIVERS
TO BE MINDFUL OF SPEED LIMITS, AT ALL TIMES!!!
