RECAP TOWN COUNCIL MEETING – JULY 19TH

Last night, the Town Council held its normal meeting.  The following is a recap of events.

 Under Good News & Recognition – The Town Council prepared a proclamation in support of Law Enforcement all around the country.  Council Kolbe read the proclamation.

 Under Council Orders, Resolutions & Ordinances –

1.    Forfeiture Funds – Taser Purchase – The Council approved the Police Department to purchase an X-2 Taser for a price of $2051.93 by a vote of 6-0.  Councilor Crafts was excused.

2.   Loader Bond – The Council approved for a bond questions be placed on the November ballot.  The bond is for the purchase of a loader for $150,000 and was approved by a vote of 6-0.

3.   Road Bond – The Council approved for a bond questions be placed on the November ball.  The bond is for road maintenance for $1,500,000 and was approved by a vote of 6-0.

4.   Public Works Cab and Chassis – The Council accepted the bid by Freightliner and Western Star of Maine, Inc. in the amount of $81,872.00 by a vote of 6-0.

5.   Sale of Town Property – The Council approved the sale of the old culverts removed from Moody Road for the cost of scrap metal by a vote of 6-0.

6.   Personnel Policy Amendment – The Council approved the policy amendments by a vote of 6-0.

7.   Planning Contract – The Council approved the renewal of the Town Planner for $20,000 by a vote of 6-0.

8.   MMA Annual Election Official Ballot – The Council approved the MMA ballot by a vote of 6-0.

9.   Carry Forwards – The Council approved the Town Managers recommendation of funds to be brought forward by a vote of 6-0.

10.         Yard Sale Ordinance (2nd Reading) – The Council approved the Yard Sale Ordinance with amendments by a vote of 5-1 with Councilor Kolbe voting NO.

Under Other Business –

The Town Manager had no input.  Dennis Douglas provided a report of the Code Enforcement Office.  A press release was read to all.
