Honored To Do So

I AM HONORED TO DO THIS.
Update June 30, 2009
Editor's Note: It has been brought to our attention and just confirmed with Snopes that the following is not true.

Did you know that the ACLU has filed a suit to have all military cross-shaped headstones removed and another suit to end prayer for the military completely. They're making great progress. The Navy Chaplains can no longer mention Jesus' name in prayer thanks to the wretched ACLU and our new administration.

This was sent in and it could not be found on Snopes before it scheduled to publish. Now a reader has made us aware of the untruths, confirmed this morning and it was updated on June 23, 2009 on Snopes. We are truly sorry for this confusion. Please accept our apologies.

I'm not breaking this one. If I get it a 1000 times, I'll forward it a 1000 times!

We will keep this prayer on here as we continue to pray for our Troops.

Let us pray...

Prayer chain for our Military... Don't break it!
Please send this on after a short prayer.. Prayer for our soldiers Don't break it!
Prayer:
'Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands Protect them as they protect us Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Amen.'
Prayer Request: When you receive this, please stop for a moment and say a prayer for our troops around the world.

There is nothing attached. Just send this to people in your address book. Do not let it stop with you. Of all the gifts you could give a Marine, Soldier, Sailor, Airman, & others deployed in harm's way, prayer is the very best one.

GOD BLESS YOU FOR PASSING IT ON!

Commando Turned Healer Coming To Lisbon

Rev. Nigel Mumford

Noted national and international healer, the Rev. Nigel Mumford, will teach in Maine on Thursday, June 11 from 6-8 pm at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Lisbon and at a Healing Conference at Acadia Christian School in Trenton on June 12 & 13.

The June 11 teaching is free and open to the public.

“The Lord is still very much in the business of healing. People who come to a healing event are often surprised by God’s answer to their prayer. Ask and God will respond,” said Mumford.

A former member of Her Majesty’s Royal Marine Commandos for over six years, Mumford’s life changed in 1989 when his sister, a dancer in the Royal Ballet was stricken with dystonia. Although the disease had left her in a fetal position and close to death, she was healed by God through prayer.

The effect on Mumford was profound. By 1995, he gave up his business in Connecticut and went into ministry full time.

For the next nine years, Mumford led healing missions and preached throughout the United States and the United Kingdom. In 2004, he was called to direct the Healing Ministries of the Christ the King Center near Albany, NY. This Healing Center has graduated over 452 individuals as trained prayer leaders with 92 completing the full course which consists of three levels.

Mumford, an Episcopal priest, also facilitates the Welcome Home Initiative, a retreat for members and families of the Armed Forces who have suffered trauma. Last December he spoke to Pentagon officials on healing returning veterans. In the coming months, he will travel to Britain to meet with military representatives to talk about ministering to returning combat veterans.

His books include, "Hand to Hand, a Marine's Journey from Combat to Healing," "The Forgotten Touch," "Heartfelt Prayers for Healing" and "A Personal Prescription for Your Healing."

The following weekend Healing Conference in Acadia is $15 and reservations can be made by contacting Church of Our Father, 207-288-4849.

Free Coffee House Concert At St. Matthew’s

Sequel, featuring Allan and Leanne Hewey

St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church on the hill off Route 196 in Lisbon is offering a free vintage Country Western and Praise Music Coffee House concert featuring Sequel on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 6 pm.

Sequel is a musical group featuring Allan and Leeanne Hewey, former Firefighter EMT and Paramedics who met in the back of an ambulance during an emergency call. Today they own a sign business and a marketing agency, Chief Lee Signs and Trinity Media Works in addition to performing and composing their own music. Since 2002, Sequel has performed throughout Mid Coast and Southern Maine and Lewiston/Auburn region.

“Many trials in life have helped us to write our songs inspired by our father in heaven, from raising teenagers to losing jobs, to losing loved ones. God has a plan and we are on the journey to see where He is taking us,” said Leeanne Hewey.
Allan grew up in his father’s Country Western band, The Hewey Bros., who performed in Central Maine in the 1960s and 1970s. Leeanne sang with Church since she was 12 years old and in High School in Maine’s All State Chorus.

The evening concert is open to all ages and St. Matthew’s parishioners will provide free desserts at both concerts. Audiences may give a loving donation.
