Independent For Governor Elect Kevin Scott
Read Kevin's Plan To Bring JOBS back to Maine.
Action plan to bring JOBS to Maine - immediately
- First – convert some State employees involved in “economic
development” to a commission driven compensation structure. If you want
to see jobs come to Maine start compensating people based on how many
jobs they attract. Period.
- Commission driven success is a basic tool in private business. We
need some common sense in our efforts to improve Maine. Corporations
have some ideas to contribute to government; this is one idea we will
embrace.
- Every time we work on attracting a business to Maine – and do not
succeed – we will know from that process where we fell short as a State
and use this information, actual company feedback, to improve our
position to win in the next round.
- Each time we work with a business to come to Maine with JOBS and
that business goes to Alabama or New Hampshire or Tennessee we will be
able to create a checklist of what things about Maine that company did
not like – where we lost to the competition.
- Likewise, every time we succeed in attracting a business and JOBS to Maine we can build on that knowledge for more success.
