The Greyhounds of Lisbon's PW Sugg Middle School finished their
season strong with a 4-0 victory over the Winthrop Ramblers on a brisk
Lisbon afternoon.
The 'Hounds set the tone early scoring in the first minute of
play with Austin Fournier putting in the first of 3 goals aided by
Nick Huston who assisted two of them. Kyle Welsh boosted the lead with
a score and an assist to his name. Defensively the now seasoned
Lisbon team proved more than able to fend off every opposing Winthrop
attack securing the teams fourth shutout. The skillful and persistent
Lisbon offense sought after one last goal in the last seconds of the
match with a boot from veteran 'Hound Jon Melnick passing just wide of
the net as the clock sounded the game's end.
The [5-5-1] Greyhounds would like to thank the many fans who
provided such meaningful support throughout this very exciting season.
