LISBON SCHOOLS’ JUNIOR VOLUNTEERS SUPPORT MDA
Lisbon – Student members of the Lisbon School Department volunteer force are supporting the fundraising efforts for Muscular Dystrophy. Philip W. Sugg Middle School eighth grade student, Alyssa Briglio introduced a district-wide campaign to put your muscle behind MDA with your spare change! Committee members from all three schools joined Alyssa at Food City in Lisbon Falls on Saturday, May 5 for the first of two tag days planned for the project. The event was a huge success collecting $425 thanks to the generous contributions from Lisbon area residents and a donation of $240 from Food City Manager, Jeff Eldridge. Eldridge invites shoppers to contribute to local charities each year in support of the specific campaigns. Members of the LHS Interact Club contributed $100 thanks to a $2,000 WCSH6 Teens Who Care award. Alyssa’s goal is $1,000 to support the local programs provided by the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
