Lisbon High School Senior Wins 2014 Moxie Festival Logo Contest‏

Lisbon, Maine.  The Moxie Festival Committee is pleased to announce that Lisbon High School Senior Claudia Lemieux has won the 4th Annual Moxie Festival Logo Contest based on the 2014 theme, “It’s Always Moxie Season in Maine.” 

“Claudia’s impressive logo boldly proclaims that Mainers love their Moxie any time of year.  We are proud to showcase Lisbon High School talent at the Moxie Festival,” said Tracey Steuber, Town of Lisbon Director of Economic and Community Development.




Claudia received a $100 check and the first 2014 Moxie Festival t-shirt featuring her design at a High School Assembly held April 28.  The 2014 Moxie Festival t-shirts are available at the Festival’s website or at the Lisbon Town Hall.

“It’s Always Moxie Season in Maine” is the theme of the 2014 Moxie Festival parade which will be held on Saturday, July 13.  The parade, which starts at 10 am, attracts over 100 participants and follows a two mile plus route that begins on Capital Avenue and Route 196 and ends at the MTM Center on School Street in Lisbon Falls.

According to Lisbon Public Safety Officials, an estimated 50,000 people attend the three-day Moxie Festival.  The Town of Lisbon has approximately 9,300 residents.
 
Since 1982, The Moxie Festival in Lisbon, Maine has been held on the second weekend in July.  The Festival now includes a Friday night Recipe Contest, fireworks; a Saturday parade, Moxie Day 5K Race, Moxie Bike Rally, Chug-n-Challenge, Moxie Vintage Base Ball Game, and Family Fun Fair; and on Sunday, the Chief Worumbo Androscoggin River Race, Moxie Car Show and much more!  Moxie was designated Maine’s official soft drink on May 20, 2005.
