What Is Happening To "America The Beautiful": BrassCheckTV: Youth going feral as America collapses‏

Lisbon,

A recent flash mob/rob at a Walmart is just the latest example of a
frightening epidemic.

Flash mobs are stealing, and in some cases turning violent, all
across America.

Flash mob/rob causes havoc at Walmart

 Flash Mob Epidemic

End of the American Dream
Flash mobs used to be so much fun. A group of people would arrange to meet in a public place at a particular time and would perform a song or a dance number or some other form of entertainment very suddenly and without warning. Well, the term "flash mob" is rapidly coming to mean something else now. All over the country, young people are using social media and other forms of communication to coordinate shocking large scale crimes. At first there were just a few isolated "mob robberies" around the country, but now we have a full-fledged flash mob epidemic on our hands. Sometimes these flash mobs are involved in "mass shoplifting" events, and in other cases flash mobs are just committing random acts of violence. But it is a very disturbing sign for our nation that all over the country we have large groups of young people that are banding together to commit very serious crimes. This is something that is really unprecedented in modern U.S. history, and it is yet another indication that our society is starting to fall apart.

Authorities keep telling us that they have everything under control, but these kinds of incidents continue to become more frequent.

Other examples of this flash mob phenomenon have been captured on video in Stockton, California, in Washington D.C. and in Las Vegas.

But flash mobs are not just engaged in shoplifting. Recently, we have seen quite a few incidents where flash mobs have been involved in mass violence.

Back on July 4th, approximately 1,000 young people violently disrupted an Independence Day celebration in the Cleveland suburb of Shaker Heights. Reportedly, the young people used social media websites to mobilize for the event.

Even more disturbing is what happened recently at the Wisconsin state fair. The following is how one local ABC News affiliate described the "flash mob" attacks that took place....

Milwaukee police said that around 11:10 p.m., squads were sent to the area for reports of battery, fighting and property damage being caused by an unruly crowd of "hundreds" of people. One officer described it as a "mob beating."
Police said the group of young people attacked fair goers who were leaving the fair grounds. Police said that some victims were attacked while walking. They said others were pulled out of cars and off of motorcycles before being beaten.
Could you imagine taking your family to the state fair only to be pulled out of your car and beaten up by a horde of violent youths?

Yes, this is now happening in the heartland of America.

But the biggest problems with flash mobs have been in highly concentrated urban areas. In America today there are millions of young men and women that don't have jobs and that don't have any hope and they are starting to take out their frustrations on innocent people.

Whitehouse Usurper In Trouble: WND Exclusive: Sheriff Joe's Obama probe finds 'national security threat'

Sheriff Joe Arpaio is finally holding his long-awaited news conference on his probe of Barack Obama, and the lawman's investigators have found a "national security threat."

In fact, they say Hawaii is a bogus birth-certificate factory.

WND EXCLUSIVE

Arpaio Obama probe finds 'national security threat'

Hawaii found to be bogus birth-certificate factory

PHOENIX After determining earlier this year there is probable cause to suspect the document released by the White House as Barack Obama’s birth certificate is a forgery, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said today he believes his Cold Case Posse’s investigation should be advanced to the federal government, based on further information released today at a press conference under way now in Phoenix that is being live-streamed by WND.

Cold Case Posse lead investigator Mike Zullo said the new information confirms the document presented to the American public in April 2011 is undoubtedly fraudulent.

Watch the live stream of Sheriff Arpaio’s press conference now. When you sign up for access, you’ll receive a copy of the official press release distributed at the conference.
Arpaio told WND he intends to move the investigation and the new information to a higher authority within the federal government because of what he calls an imminent threat to national security and U.S. immigration laws. The threat is posed by a flaw in Hawaii’s law discovered by his investigators that allows a foreigner to obtain a Hawaii birth certificate.

“Although I am having a difficult time deciding who to forward this information to given the fact that the obvious choices report directly to the president, I cannot stand by and hold on to information that threatens to weaken national security,” Arpaio said.
Arpaio said he intends on keeping a case file open if more information surfaces or if federal authorities decide to ignore the case.

Zullo explained that along with new information discovered regarding the birth certificate since the posse’s March 1 press conference, his team has discovered Hawaii provides easy access to a birth certificate, even if the child wasn’t born in the state.

Join with Sheriff Arpaio in his work to uncover the truth by donating to the Cold Case Posse expenses, or contribute to a fund that supports investigations by both WND and the sheriff.

Under Hawaii Revised Statute 338-17.8, a person only has to be an established resident of Hawaii, not necessarily a U.S. citizen, and pay taxes there for one year to be able to register an out-of-state or foreign-born person with an official Hawaii birth certificate.
“If a nation’s security is only as strong as its weakest link, then America may be in serious trouble,” Arpaio said in a statement. “Hawaii may be our weakest link and could have a serious impact on our nation’s immigration policy.”

Among the new findings presented by lead Cold Case Posse investigator Mike Zullo:
  • The sheriff’s investigators have learned of a birth certificate coding system that indicates the White House document has been altered.
  • An interview with the Hawaii official who allegedly signed the Obama document in 1961, Verna K.L. Lee, provided further confirmation of the coding anomalies.
  • Investigators were troubled to find key information missing on the verification document Hawaii provided to Arizona’s secretary of state in May.
  • Hawaii’s deputy attorney general, Jill T. Nagamine, confirm the state has a birth document on file for Obama. But she would not confirm on the record that the White House document matched what was on file with the Hawaii Department of Health.
  • The sheriff’s investigators interviewed three persons of interest who have provided additional information in the case.
In prepared opening remarks, Arpaio chastised the media for the way it has handled the investigation.

“You have demeaned this investigation at every turn as silly and wasteful,” he said. “Your contempt about the subject and me for pursuing it has been duly noted.”

He urged media members to listen to Zullo’s presentation of the new evidence.
“Keep an open mind if you can,” he said. “Put away all you pre conceived ideas. Keep your eye on the ball.”

Arpaio’s investigation was initiated last October when 250 Maricopa County citizens approached him for help because they believed the electronic document presented by the White House to the American public was a forgery. Arpaio said he went ahead with the probe with the intent of being able to clear the president and put the matter to rest. But he explained the investigation found too many inconsistencies on the birth certificate.
“We also looked into the president’s selective service registration card and found that it, too, appeared to be fraudulent,” Arpaio said.

Investigators since then have traveled to Hawaii and have interviewed more witnesses, the sheriff said.

Addressing the coding issue, Zullo explained that the Hawaii Department of Health, which categorized vital information issued at the time of the president’s birth, used specific number codes that were written in pencil to transfer information from a paper birth certificate to a database file.

Hand written codes on Obama birth document
The codes seen on the document issued by the White House are not consistent with the information entered into the various fields, indicating the document has been altered or amended.

In the coding system, the number 9 indicates the information is not stated, meaning there should not be any information in the box in which the number is written.
However, the number 9 can be seen written in pencil next to the fields for “Usual Occupation,” “Kind of Business or Industry” and “Race of Father” on Obama’s document. Each of those fields are filled with information.

“This proves the document has been tampered with and information has been placed on it,” Zullo said.

Sheriff’s investigators tracked down the registrar who allegedly signed the White House’s birth document, U.K. Lee, who is now 95. She provided information that posed further inconsistencies with the story of Obama’s birth at the Kapiolani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital in 1961.

The investigators also analyzed the Hawaii Department of Health’s response to Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett’s request that Obama’s birth information be verified.
They interviewed in person the Hawaii assistant attorney general to verify that the document presented by the White House was the same document on file with the Department of Health.

Investigators said they were troubled to find key information missing on the verification document, including the president’s date of birth.

They said they were equally troubled that the deputy attorney general would not confirm on record that the White House document matched what was on file with the health department.

The national security concerns raised by the investigation are based on Hawaii Revised Statute 338.17.8. which states:
338-17.8 Certificates for children born out of state.
Upon application of an adult or the legal parents of a minor child, the director of health shall issue a birth certificate for such adult or minor, provided that proof has been submitted to the director of health that the legal parents of such individual while living without the Territory or State of Hawaii had declared the Territory or State of Hawaii as their legal residence for at least one year immediately preceding the birth or adoption of such child.
Arpaio and his investigators said they have deep concerns that the Hawaii Revised Statute is a loophole that makes it possible for foreign born children to illegally establish U.S. citizenship.

They said the concern is also relevant given the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling concerning Arizona’s proposed state immigration law, SB 1070, in which the federal court ruled state laws cannot be in contradiction or in conflict with federal law.
Zullo noted that, normally, when it’s necessary to prove a person is a U.S. Citizen, the main form of documentation is a state certificate of birth.

“It appears that in the case of Hawaii law, any person can obtain a birth certificate if any adult or their parents can prove that they resided in Hawaii for one year and paid taxes,” he said. “There is no requirement to show that the child itself was actually born in Hawaii or on U.S. soil.”

More to come …

Dumb ~N~ Dumber: Lisbon's Lack Of Leadership

LISBON’S LACK OF LEADERSHIP

The State of Maine has established a vehicle for the taxpayers to utilize to obtain information and documentations pertaining to the operation of the government whether it is local or state. This vehicle is called the Freedom of Access Act (FOAA) and is utilized to obtain documents which are Public Records. These FOAA’s can be used to investigate how your tax dollars are being spent. I have used these FOAA’s to obtain critical information to determine the management or mismanagement of the town of Lisbon.

I have submitted numerous of these requests to the town of Lisbon and for the most part the town has provided me the information requested. However, there has been three occasions now where the town has denied the information and I have had to seek assistance in obtaining this information. I submitted two FOAA’s, which were denied, and I had to file a law suit against the town to obtain this information. In going this route, I had to pay an attorney to represent me in court and the town of Lisbon had to pay the Town Attorney, Roger Therriault his legal fees. This was expensive for me ($3,000.00) and for the town (approximately $10,000.00). In the end, the judge ruled I was entitled to this information and the town provided the information to me.

 Roger Therriault

The money I was forced to spend, for information I was entitled to, was well spent. I received an education into how Attorney Roger Therriault legally steals hard earned tax dollars from the towns he represents. Therriault provides bad information to the towns stating the individual is NOT entitled to the information hoping the individual will take the town to court. Once this is filed in court, Therriault delays all proceedings as long as he can. In my two cases, he delayed the proceedings three times which means he collected his legal fees which are approximately $150.00 per hour for driving from Bath to Auburn, spending five minutes in the judge’s chambers and driving back to Bath. This is all legal but totally unnecessary because Therriault had knowledge I was entitled to the information all the time. This is a legal method to steal money from taxpayers.

This is the strategy utilized by the Town Manager to allow him time to look into the information I was seeking and try and cover up the mismanagement. In one case, the town retired three individuals and rehired the same three at the same salary without the positions being advertised and any other candidates being considered. In the second case, two of the town’s outstanding loans were to have been paid off in 2008 and in 2011 these two loans were still outstanding. This clearly reflects mismanagement on the part of the town and the Chief Administrative Officer, Eldridge. They can easily spend our tax dollars but have no interest in ensuring, in these cases, our money is returned.

 Stephen G. Eldridge

In both cases, the judge ordered the town of Lisbon to provide me information I was entitled to receive.  During the town council workshop of May 15th, 2012, Councilor Vice-Chair Lori Pomelow stated, and I am quoting from the approved minutes of the workshop, “Councilor Vice-Chair Pomelow said regarding legal overages, that the people who run up the bill, we should seek reimbursement from.”In other words, because I had to take the town to court in order to receive information I was always entitled to; I need to reimburse the town for legal overages. The reason we were in court is because the town Attorney and the Town Manager do not know what they are doing; so why should I be compelled to reimburse the town? I believe this clearly reflects the location of Councilors Pomelow’s head and it is not on her shoulders. How does the old saying go; “Have your head up your butt?”.

 Vice-Chair Lori Pomelow

Now to get to the latest incident, I submitted a FOAA requesting information and was denied. This time, I tried another avenue by asking the State of Maine, Department of Economic Community Development (DECD) to assist me. The DECD contacted and met with the town and it was determined I was entitled to the information requested. The town provided the information to me at no additional legal fees or cost to the town and myself. Again, Therriault providing bad information and the town manager did not want to provide information taxpayers are entitled too. As it turns out, the town is currently missing required documents. This is yet another example of mismanagement by our Chief Administrative Officer. Is not the job of taxpayers to bring this information to light.

How long are we going to continue to put up with this behavior at $85,000.00 (Town Manager’s salary) of our taxpayer dollars? Don’t we deserve better? Why does any taxpayer have to go to these lengths to obtain information they are entitled to by the law?

SMART FLIGHT ATTENDANT‏

The Smart Flight Attendant

A 50-something year old Muslim man arrived at his seat on a crowded flight and immediately didn't want the seat. The seat was next to an elderly white woman reading her Bible.

Disgusted, the Muslim man immediately summoned the flight attendant and demanded a new seat. The man said "I cannot sit here next to this infidel." The flight attendant said "Let me see if I can find another seat."

After checking, the flight attendant returned and stated "There are no more seats in economy, but I will check with the captain and see if there is something in first class."

About 10 minutes went by and the flight attendant returned and stated "The captain has confirmed that there are no more seats in economy, but there is one
in first class. It is our company policy to never move a person from economy to first class, but being that it would be some sort of scandal to force a person to sit next to an UNPLEASANT person, the captain agreed to make the switch to first class."

Before the irate Muslim man could say anything, the attendant gestured to the elderly woman and said, "Therefore, madam, if you would so kindly retrieve your personal items, we would like to move you to the comfort of first class as the captain doesn't want you to sit next to an unpleasant person."

Passengers in the seats nearby began to applaud while some gave a standing ovation.

I say, can I get an Amen to that

First Lisbon Republican Fundraiser Results‏

First Fundraiser Results

Well the results are in for YOUR first fund raising event of 2012. I'd like to take a moment to thank all the core people involved in this effort, especially Randy and Karen Crafts. Without the over and above effort of this fine family YOUR event would have been impossible. Randy and Karen gave us permission to use part of the parking lot at the Big Dipper as well as donating part of the profits from selling 2yd loads of organic loam (remember it's that time of year so give him a call or me for that matter and get a head start on your yard or garden this year) then, rallied his family to assist, he called John up at the car lot and he brought up a dozen red white & blue balloons and John senior brought down items for the sale.
The next group of citizen volunteers is a rather small group compared to the 1700 + registered republicans in town. They were the boots on the ground, the members who cleared out there basements and set up every morning and took it down every night. I thank you with all my heart and as requested these people shall remain nameless, I will leave it up to our membership to become involved and as you do you will have no problem identifying these great Americans,  the citizens of Lisbon Falls Maine !

Finally and most importantly the people who made the extra effort to take time out of there busy schedules to come by and leave some donations or make maybe a small purchase or leave us a cash donation. Thank You all and I encourage to become more involved.

There were some great moments and a lot of hard work done over the past three days and I will be posting some stories and pictures on YOUR website as soon as I recover (whew). Just What The Hell Has This Country Become???....65-year-old California "milk man" subjected to raw sewage torture, hypothermia in LA County jail - exclusive interview‏

NaturalNews can now report that 65-year-old senior citizen James Stewart, a raw milk farmer with no criminal history, was nearly tortured to death in the LA County jail this past week. He survived a "week of torturous Hell" at the hands of LA County jail keepers who subjected him to starvation, sleep deprivation, hypothermia, loss of blood circulation to extremities, verbal intimidation, involuntary medical testing and even subjected him to over 30 hours of raw biological sewage filth containing dangerous pathogens.

This is from a county that has targeted and terrorized James Stewart for the supposed crime of selling fresh milk containing "dangerous pathogens." That's right - the only "crime" James has ever committed is being the milk man and distributing milk that is openly and honestly kept fresh and raw instead of pasteurized. So as part of his punishment of advocating raw cow's milk, he was tortured with raw human sewage at the LA County jail.

This true story of jaw-dropping dehumanization and torture -- conducted in total violation of state law as well as the Geneva Convention for prisoners of war -- is told in an exclusive audio interview recorded today between Mike Adams and James Stewart.

That audio recording, which has been released by Adams into the public domain for the purpose of widespread copying and sharing, is available for download at the following links:

Adams openly encourages members of the public to post these files on YouTube, Vimeo, bittorrent sites and anywhere else where they may reach the public.
"I thought I was gonna die in there..."

In this exclusive interview, you can hear James Stewart describe, in his own words, the shocking details of prisoner abuse right here in America. Among the highlights from his interview with Mike Adams:

• How James was subjected to severe food deprivation.
• How he was interrogated by deputies and accused of being a "sovereign," then branded with a red arm band (Nazi-style) to falsely indicate that he was a danger to the general population.
• How James was shackled in long chains wrapped around his waist multiple times, then had his hands cuffed behind his back which was bound to the heavy waist chain to restrict his movement. His handcuffs were so tight he thought his wrists would break.
• James was then handcuffed to a cold bench, restricting his movement to just six inches, then left on the bench for 4-5 hours.
• James was then forcibly subjected to various medical tests, including forced chest X-rays even while he was handcuffed.
• He was placed in a cold cell wearing only a T-shirt and pants, where he soon began to suffer from hypothermia and found himself violently shivering just to stay alive.
• How he was made to suffer through total sleep deprivation all night long as other prisoners were screaming and banging on the walls.
• His cell was then flooded with raw human sewage, which flowed into his jail cell 2-3 inches deep, covering his shoes and shirt. LA County jail guards then ordered James to clean up all the raw sewage in his cell by handing him a small hand-held squeegee and demanding that he squeegee out all the raw sewage himself (which he reluctantly did).
• He was then forced to stay in the putrid raw sewage cell for over 30 hours, fighting off nausea and living in bacteriological filth that threatened his health.
• All along, the LA County prison guards gloated over their treatment of prisoners while laughing and joking about their power to subject prisoners to such abuse. This behavior openly mimics that of Gitmo guards who took pictures gloating over their torture and murder of prisoners of war.
• During this entire process, James was not allowed a single phone call nor any visit from an attorney. His right to speak to an attorney was repeatedly denied.
• At no point was James notified of what he was being charged with. He was never presented with an arrest warrant nor were any charges explained to him.
• James was mysteriously "lost" in the system and LA County officials claimed they did not know where he was. This was apparently a deliberate attempt to subject an individual to drawn-out torture without legal representation and make sure no one could locate them to check on their health or arrest status.
"Worse than torture... They're actually torturing you mentally and physically to break you down..."
These are the actual words of James Stewart that you will hear in this interview:

• "I thought I was gonna die in there."
• "It was worse than torture. They're actually torturing you mentally and physically to break you down."
• "I wrote the 'torture' on a piece of toilet paper to try to tell everybody what I had gone through, because I was worried they were going to mentally break me and put me in a psych ward."
• "What I experienced in downtown LA was brutality."
• "It's trauma. And they create this thing where you're not even sure what's coming next. What has this country come to? I don't sleep well at night right now, and I don't think anyone would if they had been what I've been through."
• "I'm shocked that this is America. Because it seems like you're in some third world country, in a gulag, like in the movie Midnight Express, where you're absolutely just tortured. That was the experience I had. Your mind goes, how can this be? This is America?"

NaturalNews calls on Amnesty International, ACLU to intervene

What we are witnessing here is a gross violation of civil rights and human rights, not to mention fundamental due process. The treatment unleashed upon James was not merely against the law in California, it was also a violation of federal law and a violation of the Geneva Convention and its ban on torturing prisoners of war.

"What happened to Stewart is horrendous," health freedom attorney Jonathan Emord told NaturalNews. He's the author of the new book "Restore the Republic" which lays out a plan to overthrow tyranny and restore a government that works on behalf of the people instead of declaring the People to be the enemy.

The bail amount set for James ($1 million) and the torture to which he was subjected clearly indicate that James Stewart is a political prisoner of the State of California, which has decided to spend millions of dollars in taxpayer money to target and incarcerate a senior citizen farmer. (By comparison, bail for alleged child rapist and sex pimp Jerry Sandusky, former Penn State sports coach, was only set at $100,000 and was unsecured!)

NaturalNews calls upon Amnesty International and the American Civil Liberties Union to intervene in this extraordinary violation of basic human rights. For the record, James Stewart has no criminal record and is a permaculture farmer and fresh food advocate. His "crime" consists entirely of arranging for the distribution of raw milk to customers who actually line up to access this nourishing food (people love it!).

NaturalNews has no financial ties to James Stewart nor Rawesome Foods and has been the leading source of free press information covering this story. The mainstream media so far refuses to cover this story, most likely out of financial loyalty to the conventional (processed) dairy industry which stands to lose tens of millions of dollars if raw milk is allowed to be openly and legally sold.

Subject: Mr. Patrie

Hi Monica,

I would like to publicly thank Mr. Ryan Patrie, assistant principal at Lisbon Community School, for helping me this afternoon and I knew you would know how to go about this. I thought about a letter to the editor and/or school board, but I am not sure if there is another avenue.

This afternoon I was stuck in the mud at pick up time at LCS. You can't imagine how many cars drove right past me looking at me struggling to get my car out of the mud, some of the drivers even smirking in amusement as they drove by. I was amazed at the lack of compassion from all the adults driving past me, not one stopping to help. It actually brought back a memory of when my oldest daughter was a freshman and threw up in the hallway not being able to make it to the bathroom in time. She verbalized amazement at the same exact lack of compassion she saw. No one offered her help, many laughed at her.

I just got done helping my 7 and 5 yr olds make posters for kindness week at LCS and am struck by the helpfulness and kindness that I have witnessed in the younger ages. Why does that kindness and compassion have to leave the majority of the population and at what age does this occur? There are so few people in this world that really have a heart and I am saddened by that.

BUT, I do see in Mr. Patrie constant giving, a constant smile, a constant manner of kindness. He is such an asset to our school system. Today, I called into the school office asking if there was anyone that could come help me with a push or to drive my car so I could push it out of the mud. A secretary answered the phone. A minute later Mr. Patrie came out to help me and he pushed me out of the mud without question and always a smile. I felt so bad that I got him full of mud and apologized to him, but he said, "don't apologize". I need to do something for him.

Thank you, Monica,

Laurie Pitcher

Mr. Patrie shows random acts of kindness on a regular basis. What a wonderful role model for our students and families.

Lisbon's Own Rockin' T Equine Rescue Needs Our Help

                                                     WE NEED YOUR HELP

The Rockin’ “T” Equine Rescue is owned and operated by Janet and Andy Tuttle since 1996 right here in Lisbon on Edgecomb Road.

 Janet Tuttle

What is it you ask?  It is a rescue shelter for all abused animals.  It started out as only a rescue shelter for horses but over the years has developed into an abused shelter for all animals.

These animals come from the State, Animal Control Officers and are even purchased at times in order to save these animals.  Currently, at this facility are 29 horses, 15 chickens, 1 lama, 1 Emu, 2 donkeys, 3 goats, 1 goose, 7 dogs and 3 cats.  These animals require a lot of attention every day of the week.  There are no days off for Janet and Andy Tuttle.

 Warren Goddard

Fortunately, Warren Goddard has volunteered his time and assists the Tuttle’s every day.  The Tuttle’s have other volunteers who help when they can.   As you can tell this is quite an operation but the Tuttle’s love for animals makes this worthwhile.

The Rockin’ “T” Equine Rescue is a non-profit organization under the provisions of 501©(3) IRS tax codes; who needs our assistance.  An undertaking of this size is very costly and this is where the residents of Lisbon and the State of Maine can help.  There are two ways people can assist.  The first one is to logon to www.bangor.com/cmm which is a web site for the Bangor Savings Bank which has a contest going where the Bangor Savings Bank is giving back to the communities of Maine.  All you have to do is logon to the web site; click on the box which reads “Cast Your Vote Today”; scroll down to the section for “Portland/Lewiston-Auburn” and click on a write in box and enter Rockin’ “T” Equine Rescue.  THIS COSTS YOU NOTHING MORE THAN A FEW MINUTES OF YOUR TIME!  According to the information I have received 68 grants will be awarded.  The top vote-getting organization in each region, including write-ins, will receive $5,000.  The remaining 60 organization will each receive $1,000.  Any amount of money received will go a long way to feed, shelter and caring for these animals.

Lisbon - The Lisbon High School Young Adult / Interact Club members are a remarkable group of teens from freshman to seniors.  Recently Club Advisor, Monica Millhime, was notified students were selected as recipients 2012 February Teens Who Care Award.  Millhime nominated the group for their community service efforts of contributing over 4,000 hours of service.  “Membership requires students to attend a detailed-oriented training class prior to assisting with any school or community projects,” shares Millhime.  “Students assist as reading buddies to younger students at Lisbon Community School and as tutors for middle school and underclassmen.  There are numerous capacities where individual students assist teachers in their classrooms, offer babysitting for the parent groups, chaperones for school events, serve on fundraising and community serve projects in school and the greater community. Groups of students assist with lawn work, visiting at the local nursing home, assist at the local food and clothing bank and other community events throughout the year.”   As winners of the award, the group was presented with a $2,000 grant to be donated to non-profit agencies of their choice.  Students have voted on eleven local charities to be receiving donations.  The group was modeled after the adult volunteer program and continues to grow with support from parents who set the example of volunteers who make a difference in our schools and our community.  FMI on events and other programs at Lisbon High School email mmillhime@lisbonschoolsme.org or call 754.0021.  Check out all the latest events by visiting Community Resource News in Lisbon Schools on Facebook.

"That's What We Do, We're Americans" Take Time to Give Thanks to Those Who Give All

Is Ron Paul Americas Only Hope? Super PAC supporting Ron Paul is operated by a 9/11 'truther'

Super PAC supporting Ron Paul is operated by a 9/11 'truther'

As libertarian Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul looks for a state he can win, some of his supporters have turned to a new theme: voting fraud.
A Super PAC supporting Paul has pledged to monitor the vote in all the remaining states, using an army of exit pollsters to fight what it calls results that are "outrageous, unacceptable and patently un-American." The group, called Revolution PAC, has spent half a million dollars supporting Paul with videos, webcasts, online ads, direct mail, billboards and radio ads in primary and caucus states.
We first noticed Revolution PAC last week, when it told the Federal Election Commission that it couldn't meet the deadline to identify its donors, because of an error by its bank. Now Revolution PAC has filed its report.

Stop Distorting The Truth!!!!

DO CITIZENS OF LISBON DESERVE A READABLE BUDGET?

Below is an extract of the Police Department’s portion of the Skowhegan’s Municipal Budget for 2012. This budget is broken down by departments and clearly explains all the entries in the budget. This budget outlines everything clean and concise so everyone can read this and know how their tax dollars are being spent. The Town of Skowhegan is extremely transparent and the people of Skowhegan should be proud of the outstanding management of their town.

Now, try and compare Skowhegan’s budget with Lisbon’s budget. Lisbon’s budget is so convoluted no one will be able to read and understand anything. This is the method the town manager and the town council used to hide mismanagement of our tax dollars. Bowie continues to conspire with Brooks to keep the people from knowing how much money is being spent by the police department. I used the Skowhegan police department to compare to Lisbon’s police department to ensure I am comparing apples to apples. The Lisbon police department is the most costly department in Lisbon. Brooks has openly admitted to spreading the operating cost of OUR communications center in different areas of the budget. There is no telling how much money for the police department is scattered throughout the budget. How can anyone determine what the actual operating costs of any department is when line items are spread throughout the budget?

Look at Skowhegan’s budget and you will find all the operating costs for each department is listed under the correct department. This provides anyone who wants to know what the total operating cost is to see it clearly. In Lisbon’s municipal budget there is no transparency, citizens have to search and search for line items pertaining to a department to determine the total operating cost of the department. Creative accounting is how the town manager, town council and Brooks conceal and misuse tax dollars. People have a right to know how their tax dollars are being spent.

The people must make a stand and demand management create a budget more in line with Skowhegan’s in order to determine where to make cuts in our operating costs so we can lower our tax bills. Let’s put a stop to this mismanagement and restore transparency in Lisbon.
