Why Social Media IS Necessary In Lisbon!

THE NEED FOR SOCIAL MEDIA!!!!!

On Tuesday night, August 20, 2013, I attended a Town Council meeting/Public Hearing on the Worumbo Mill project.  I am sure that Town Manager Stephen Eldridge was there.  I verified his presence with the Great Falls TV video of the meeting.

However, Mrs. Darcie Moore reported on August 23, 2013 inThe Times Record (click to view), that “However, Tuesday, Eldridge said the council was never able to hear questions, share information or have a dialogue as about six or seven members of the public criticized the council for about 20 minutes about bringing the proposal forward ---objections including the price tag and making the mill a priority over other needs in town can get.”  This is as far from the truth as you can get.  Members of the Public were limited to 3 minutes and approximately fifteen to twenty individuals spoke before Vice Chair Ward terminated the Public Hearing.  Numerous questions were asked but never answered.  The design of the Public Hearing did NOT allow for a dialogue.  The Public came to the podium, asked questions and left.  At the end of the Public Hearing, both Mr. Eldridge and Vice Chair Ward answered a few questions.  

 The entire council chamber was full and numerous others were in the hallway.   A friend of mine estimated there were approximately 100 residents in attendance. It is apparent that Mrs. Moore did not verify her information.  Those that attend council meetings regularly know that Mr. Eldridge is known for not telling the truth or twisting the words for his agenda.  There have been many times Mr. Eldridge has provided the council with half-truths or false guidance in order to get his desired results.  This has been going on since January 2008 when Mr. Eldridge became Town Manager.

This situation is exactly why The LisbonReporter, LisbonMaine.net, The Unmasker 4 Maine and Falmouth Today blog sites were created.  These blogs purpose has always been to bring the truth to our respective communities.  These blog sites enable everyone to express their opinions and to expose the corruption going on daily.  

It is important that the real truth be provided to our people to keep them informed so the people can make intelligent decisions when they are asked to vote on issues.  I know in Lisbon, residents are provided ONLY what the council and Mr. Eldridge want them to know.   

The people are never provided all the facts or all the options.  This is exactly why Lisbon is in such poor condition today. 

Unfortunately, Lisbon can never move forward as long as Mr. Eldridge is the Town Manager.  Lisbon is on the same destructive path Rumford suffered when Mr. Eldridge was the Town Manager there.

Social Medias, such as blog sites, are a vital avenue for the people to get the truth.  You can tell these sites are very effective because councilors, both past and present, object to these sites.  It must be terrible when the truth comes out exposing these councilors.  When Lori Pomelow gave her outgoing speech she claimed the information on the blog sites were lies so we started providing documents supplied by the town as proof.  It is hard to deny anything when you use the town documents as evidence.  The only time they complain is when they are caught in a lie.

Another means of getting the truth to the people is through Facebook.  Facebook reaches a large number of people both locally and around the world.  This is another example of “social media”.  Anyone who criticizes the use of “social media” needs a checkup from the neck up.

I personally have been forced to verify everything said by management of Lisbon.  I utilize the Freedom of Access Act (FOAA) for documents supporting statements made.  I believe I am well over one hundred FOAA’s.  Also, for every copy I receive I have to pay $.50 of my own money.  As a resident of Lisbon, I do not believe I should be forced to go to these lengths. 

 

Tell me again where the transparency is in Lisbon.

A week out the Embassy in Tripoli began receiving multiple tips about an Al Queda cell in the area planning an attack on 9/11 in response to the killing of Bin Laden. For the next several days, the state dept and WH were asked for a security force and were denied at least six times. Ambassador Stevens and his team were given the all clear that The Consulate in Benghazi was safe and there was no need for a security force other than his 3 personal guards (One being my cousin) and a few Libyans who were not armed.

Then the attack and murders occurred. Immediately the WH claimed it was a protest gone bad over a you tube video. Obama made a quick speech in the Rose Garden on Sept.12 before catching a plane to Vegas to campaign. He made a generic statement at the end of his speech after placing the blame on an overheated protest over the video. He said “No act of terror will shake the resolve of America . Later that day and over the next 2 days, the liberal media began saying Ambassador Stevens and the other 3 men died of smoke inhalation. This was not the case. Out of respect for my cousin, I’m not going to be specific about his murder. However Ambassador Stevens was brutally murdered. His genitals were cut off, he was sodomized and beaten and cut and stabbed and burned. He was drug thru the streets and left for dead. This is eyewitness testimony of a local Dr. Who found the Ambassador in a ditch and tried to save his life. He had no idea who he was.

 

The other 3 men, including my cousin, met similar fates. And deaths due to smoke inhalation is a 100% fabricated LIE. The next week I drove my aunt and Uncle and 2 others to DC to receive his body. We met with Hillary, Panetta, and Susan Rice. ALL of whom apologized and said it was a protest gone bad over a video and exited the area. Next Obama entered with the same story and didn’t apologize and wasn’t sympathetic. My aunt cried to this man and all he did was hand her flowers and walk away. I tried to get his attention, but didn’t. I got upset and yelled liar to him, he kept walking. Then a secret svc agent grabbed my arm and led me to a room where I was held till the proceedings were over.

 

America, I saw firsthand how cold this man is. What kind of liar he is. Most of you haven’t a clue about this tyrant and yet you support him. And act like every word he says is Gospel. Last week John Nolte of Breitbart observed that the mainstream media had failed to break any of the controversial news occupying Washington. This week Paul Farhi of the Washington Post, without intending to, explained why.

There are four stories harming President Obama’s approval rating, and the heirs of Tarbell and Woodward and Novak uncovered none of them. The long-simmering tale of what happened before, during, and after the attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11, 2012, was all but ignored by media other than Fox until Gregory Hicks’ blockbuster testimony before the House Oversight Committee last month. It was the IRS, in a carefully planned “apology,” that revealed to the world it had targeted the applications of conservative and Tea Party groups for special scrutiny. The Justice Department, not the press, announced it had been scouring AP phone records to plug national security leaks. And Edward Snowden, the contractor who exposed secret intelligence, went to the Guardian, a left-wing British rag, with his scoop. (Only when Snowden’s anti-anti-terror accomplice Laura Poitras suggested, in the words of Guardian writer Glenn Greenwald, “It would be good to have the Washington Post invested in the leak, so it wasn’t just us—to tie in official Washington in the leak” did the three filtradors approach former Post reporter Barton Gellman.)

Four stories, four separate races in which the establishment press, the major print dailies and the heavily watched network broadcasts, are sweating to catch up. “We are getting big stories wrong, over and over again,” said Scott Pelley, the anchor of the CBS evening news, in a speech at Quinnipiac University in May. Did he, did anybody, read the June 13 Washington Post, I wonder; did Pelley’s eye scan the innocuous headline—“Media, administration deal with conflicts”—and the well-kneaded copy below? If so he would have learned much about life in the capital city.

“Conflicts” is not the best description of Farhi’s subject. His topic is marriages, unions, and blood, legal and romantic and familial connections between individuals where one party works in media and another works in politics. The extent of such links is staggering. Farhi has to interrupt his story to announce, in a parenthetical, that Post reporter Sari Horwitz, who covers the Justice Department, is married to William B. Schultz, who is Kathleen Sebelius’ top lawyer at the Department of Health and Human Services. Ben Sherwood, the president of ABC News, is brother to Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall, “a top national security adviser to President Obama.” Another Obama national security aide, Ben Rhodes, is brother to David Rhodes, president of CBS News. One of CNN’s top D.C. hacks is married to Tom Nides, whose upward career trajectory has taken him from the office of Democratic congressional powerbroker Tony Coelho to, where else, Fannie Mae, Credit Suisse, and Morgan Stanley, as well as a two-year stint as an undersecretary of state for Hillary Clinton. Whose daughter is on contract with NBC.

White House spokesman Jay Carney, who worked for many years at Time magazine, is married to Claire Shipman, a correspondent for ABC News. The White House correspondent for NPR, Ari Shapiro, has been married to former White House counsel Michael Gottlieb since 2004. Longtime NPR personality Michele Norris went on leave in 2011, when her husband Broderick Johnson, a corporate lawyer who served in the Clinton White House, joined the Obama reelection campaign as a full-time adviser. Wall Street Journal political reporter Neil King is married to Shailagh Murray, who serves as communications director for Vice President Joe Biden, and who used to report on Congress for the Post. Savannah Guthrie of NBC recently became engaged to Mike Feldman, a former Gore aide who is now part of the Democratic Glover Park Group consultancy. Syndicated columnist Connie Schultz is married to Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown of Ohio.

Shortly before Howe was charged by federal prosecutors, Key said, "some in the major media" became aware of who she was and what she was doing for the ATF.

NBC eventually ran a story about Howe and the Elohim City connection, as did ABC. But, Key said, ABC was planning to follow up with a more in-depth report focusing more on Howe's activities for the ATF, but "were 'encouraged' not to run it."

Key told WND that former ABC producer Roger Charles -- who later went to work for Key's OKC bombing committee as an investigator -- said, "ABC had interviewed an assistant Justice Department official up in Denver (where McVeigh and Nichols were tried) by the name of Lisa Brown, who was working for the main prosecution's team."

According to Key, Charles "and a number of other media were asking questions about Howe." Previously, Justice Department officials had denied knowing anything about Howe and said she had no role in the OKC investigation or events leading up to the bombing.

But ABC "eventually got Brown to make an admission on film" that government officials "did know about Howe," but that "she had nothing to do with the case, that she wasn't any big deal," Key said.

"But they got this admission, so they [ABC] were going to put this second piece together, coupled with some other information, that was primarily about Carol Howe," Key said. "But they got pressure put on them not to run it."

Key stated that the "pressure included threats and intimidation," but he did not elaborate.

Undercover: The Howe Revelations

To a tight circle of federal law enforcement officials she was known as Confidential Informant 53270-183, or more commonly, CI-183. To her "comrades" in the neo-Nazi and "Christian Identity" movements -- whom the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) and FBI had asked her to infiltrate and surveil -- she was known by the noms de guerre "Freya" and "Lady MacBeth." During the trial of Timothy McVeigh for the Oklahoma City bombing, she became more widely known in press accounts by her real name: Carol Elizabeth Howe.

That is the name affixed to the ATF's "Informant Agreement" of August 25, 1994, signed by Miss Howe and Special Agent Angela Finley (now Angela Finley-Graham) of the ATF's Tulsa, Oklahoma office. McVeigh's defense team had sought to have Howe testify concerning her allegations that she had warned her federal supervisors prior to the bombing that subjects of her investigation were planning to bomb federal buildings, including the one in Oklahoma City. But jurors in the Denver trial of McVeigh never heard Carol Howe's name mentioned in court, nor did they hear her testimony. Federal prosecutors filed motions to prevent her appearance as a defense witness.

"Irrelevant" Witness

U.S. District Judge Richard Matsch ruled for the prosecution in a May 27th decision that found Miss Howe's testimony "irrelevant" to the McVeigh trial. At the time, Judge Matsch's ruling was astounding, since the "relevance" of Howe's testimony is facially obvious. It was federal prosecutors, after all, who had entered into evidence the records of a telephone debit card registered to Timothy McVeigh under the name "Daryl Bridges." Among the calls listed was one placed two weeks before the bombing, at 1:46 p.m. on April 5th, to Elohim City, the main target of Howe's undercover work. The intended recipient of that call was Andreas Strassmeir, whom Howe had identified before the bombing as one who was plotting to blow up federal buildings and carry out shootings, assassinations, and other acts of violence. Strassmeir has admitted in an affidavit to having met McVeigh at a gun show and having purchased materials from him.

However, there is considerable evidence indicating a much more substantial connection. Witnesses in Herington, Kansas, for instance, where McVeigh once lived and where his co-defendant Terry Nichols still lived at the time of the bombing, state that Strassmeir was a friend of McVeigh. The McVeigh/Bridges call to Strassmeir at Elohim City takes on even more relevance by virtue of the fact that it was placed from the same phone (at the Kingman, Arizona motel where McVeigh was staying), and on the same calling card, less than two minutes after a call to the Ryder Truck Rental agency.

Even more astonishing evidence supporting Howe's charges was revealed in Howe's own trial in Tulsa, which concluded with a complete acquittal on all counts on August 1st. Howe's attorney, Clark O. Brewster,
