You Can't Trust The Voting Process Anymore

Voter reports problem with ballot machine

Man said he voted straight-party ticket and got opposite results

Sun Journal Staf

A Craven County voter says he had a near miss at the polls on Thursday when an electronic voting machine completed his straight-party ticket for the opposite of what he intended.

Sam Laughinghouse of New Bern said he pushed the button to vote Republican in all races, but the voting machine screen displayed a ballot with all Democrats checked. He cleared the screen and tried again with the same result, he said. Then he asked for and received help from election staff.

“They pushed it twice and the same thing happened,” Laughinghouse said. “That was four times in a row. The fifth time they pushed it and the Republicans came up and I voted.”

M. Ray Wood, Craven County Board of elections chairman, issued a written statement saying that the elections board is aware of isolated issues and that in each case the voter was able to cast his or her ballot as desired.

THINK THIS CAN'T HAPPEN IN LISBON?  THINK AGAIN, IT ALREADY HAS.

You Get A Receipt For Everything Else In Life, Don't You Think A Receipt For Your Vote Would Be A "ProActive" Solution TO THE CORRUPTION OF OUR supposedly SACRED VOTING PROCESS?

In America This Won't Happen Unless Millions Of Dollars Are Spent On Lobbying Efforts.

Do You Get It Yet?

"Those Voices Don't Speak for the Rest of Us"

Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) and the Republican Study Committee present to you a new video featuring President Ronald Reagan reminding us that the out-touch voices of the Democrat Party don't speak for all Americans.

Here's the way it should be:

Here's the way it should be:

Let's put the seniors in jail and the criminals in nursing homes.

This would correct two things in one motion:

Seniors would have access to showers, hobbies and walks.

They would receive unlimited free prescriptions, dental and medical
treatment, wheel chairs, etc.

They would receive money instead of having to pay it out.

They would have constant video monitoring, so they would be helped
instantly if they fell or needed assistance.

Bedding would be washed twice a week and all clothing would be ironed
and returned to them.

A guard would check on them every 20 minutes.

All meals and snacks would be brought to them

They would have family visits in a suite built for that purpose.

They would have access to a library, weight/fitness room, spiritual
counseling, a pool and education...and free admission to in-house
concerts by nationally recognized entertainment artists.

Simple clothing - i.e., shoes, slippers, pj's - and legal aid would be
free, upon request.

There would be private, secure rooms provided for all with an outdoor
exercise yard complete with gardens.

Each senior would have a P.C., T.V., phone and radio in their room at
no cost.

They would receive daily phone calls.

There would be a board of directors to hear any complaints and the ACLU
would fight for their rights and protection.

The guards would have a code of conduct to be strictly adhered to, with
attorneys available, at no charge to protect the seniors and their
families from abuse or neglect.

As for the criminals:

They would receive cold food.

They would be left alone and unsupervised.

They would receive showers once a week.

They would live in tiny rooms, for which they would have to pay $5,000
per month.

P. W. Sugg Boys Soccer Results (10/26/10)‏

The Lisbon Greyhounds once again performed superbly as they played the
Monmouth Mustangs Tuesday, this time limiting the opponents to only 2
goals, half as many as last time but still sufficient for the Mustangs
to secure a 0-2 win. Both teams worked the ball tenaciously around the
field attempting to get the ball into a shooting position. Between
Lisbon's fullbacks like Spencer Thebeau who admirably fended off
several attacks and halfbacks like Cote Brauneis who scrambled to keep
the forward momentum going, the indomitable Greyhound spirit was
definitely present. The 2-8 Greyhounds next take their determination
to the field as they visit St. Michael's later today for their one and
only match up against this team.

P.W. SUGG GIRLS SOCCER RESULT 10/26/10‏

On Tuesday 10/26, Lisbon Sugg middle school girls’ soccer defeated the Mustangs of Monmouth 1x0.
At the last home game, the Greyhounds scored in the second half and kept the winning score until the end of the game.

Lisbon’s defense fought valiantly to stop the skillful Forwards from Monmouth, including Center Back Chandler Riordan, Left Fullback Mikayla Yanez, Right fullback Taylor Feehan and Center Back Kailyn Hill, who is also the Captain and key player of Greyhounds. Goalie Dakota Bisson once more amazed all the spectators and the other’s team coach, by coming out of the goal several times to get the ball from the opponent’s feet and save the ball of the game at the last 30 seconds in a breakaway.

Midfielders did a great job not only by helping the defense out by recovering several balls in the middle, but also by making good passes to the Forwards, including Right Midfielder Drew Stewart-Staples and Left Midfielder Abby Gamache. Center Forward Ashley Conrad led the Greyhound's Offense line by shooting many times in goal, scoring the winning goal and assisting her team mates. Left Forward Katherine had a clear shot that was blocked by the goalie and Right Forward Loren Grant worked hard creating many opportunities of attack.

Lisbon Sugg middle school girl's next game is Thursday, 10/27 at 3:30 pm, an away game against St. Michael’s.

What Do Americans Have For This Massive, Irresponsible Spending Of Money?

*************************************************
Fellow Maine voters:

Think about the following as you go to the polls next Tuesday.

The current administration in Washington has rung up in just 20 months of power, more debt to the American people than all the other administrations going to back to the father of our country, George Washington!

What do Americans have for this massive, irresponsible spending of money that the U. S. Treasury did not have, but borrowed on the backs of our children, grand children, and great grand children, primarily from a country that hates us, China?

What the money was spent on was for special interest! A payback to the United Auto Workers Union, the NEA teachers Union, and the Teamsters Union, all for their undying support of Washington socialism.

Let us also not forget the the wall street investment gangsters who were bailed out of their disregard of common sense investing because of their greed and lust for financial power …. and the thousands of banks who were going belly up with American's savings because of laws that were pushed through the House of Representatives by a socialists from metro Boston by the name of Barney Frank, and through the Senate by another socialists from Connecticut by the name of Christopher J. Dodd; which, by law, made banks and other lending institutions give mortgage loans to people who simply could not afford a home purchase. Some of these loans were made to people who could not even afford the closing costs, let alone a minimum down payment.

All this done for political expediency!

Yes …. to buy votes …. paid for by the American tax payer!

If this isn't enough to make you blood boil, then nothing ever will. This horrible state of affairs in the housing market was the under current that led not only to our own country's financial demise, but had a rippling affect through out Europe and Asia.

The European and Asian countries are recovering better than America simply because they have reacted in a responsible manner the administration in Washington simply sneers at.

This blatant irresponsible act in government by just two of our elected officials in Washington was the unmitigated support for the hellish situation we find ourselves in today. Dodd is not running again. He has cowardly backed away from his sordid place in history.

Barney Frank has been in Washington going on 29 years, and it looks like the larger heads in Massachusetts are going to send this political gangster back to Washington for another term in the House of Representatives!

Just think voters ….. if we had term limits corralling these Washington thugs. We just might not have found ourselves in the frightful situation we are in today!

Think about that!

Perhaps …..just perhaps, as has been suggested by many prominent political thinkers, we as a nation, must create some kind of litmus test to be able to vote; especially in the face of when President Obama goes on a speaking tour to the 'kiddies' at the college campuses; who in a recent survey, some 80% of those he was speaking to did not know who the vice president was, or how many judges sit on the United Sates Supreme Court; but could, without a hitch, tell you the names of every actor and actress on “Jersey Shores” or who the Kardashian sisters were by name and age! These are the same people who blindly voted for a man that the Penobscot Indians would say spoke with a 'forked tongue'.

But what did all of you expect when you voted for this inexperienced puppet of a putrid Chicago political machine?

You got what you voted for! So don't blame your unemployment on the nasty company that had to lay you off because they had no orders for the products or services they provided.

Just the mere fact that families are hurting more than since the great depression should be enough for you to go to the polls and vote these rascals out of office before Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid in behalf of a socialist president, set in motion a complete collapse of our great country.

In this regard we as Americans, must be very vigilant as to what both of these socialists do in a 'lame duck' session of congress.

Both of our Maine Representatives in Washington is lock step part of the problem that now exists! It is disgusting how Chellie Pingree and Mike Michaud run around with their 'holier than thou attitude' when they were tongue in groove with every socialists law set in motion by the Obama administration. Both should hang their heads in shame and apologize to the citizens of Maine for their irresponsible voting record.

But yet do you think for one minute their consciences would tell them to step down and and not seek reelection?

Hell no! Sadly, today, politicians have no conscience!

And do you think for one minute that the other socialist in Augusta should get a free pass?

Hell no! John Baldacci is in some ways on a state level, more of a tax and spend politician than Michaud or Pingree, because he can't borrow money from China! Yet we have another political Baldacci clone running for the Blaine House in Libby Mitchell.

How dumb do they think the voters of Maine are!!?

It is time to take back the remnants of our great nation. Obama's complete disregard of the American people must be stopped in its tracks, least we become a third rate nation, similar to that which he came from in Africa.

Town Council Chair Michael Bowie Recall Petition, Just The Facts Nothing Hidden

Dot Fitzgerald with the Michael Bowie Recall Papers

To the Editor
October 22, 2010

I would like to shed some light, and facts, on the recall of Michael Robert Bowie who is chairman of the Lisbon Town Council.

At the October 19 Town Council meeting, a councilor asked what the recall was all about, or something to that effect.

Printed below are the facts as on the Petition:

Town of Lisbon
Petition Papers

We, the undersigned, qualified voters in DISTRICT 2 of the TOWN OF LISBON, Maine entitled to vote in town affairs, hereby propose to recall: MICHAEL ROBERT BOWIE, 282 MAIN STREET, LISBON FALLS ME from the office of COUNCILOR for the following reason(s):

A)    denying any councilor the right to place an item on the agenda (charter sec. 2.04),

B)     not consulting with all councilors when dealing with town manager (charter sec. 2, 04.)

C)    Improper influence and/or conflict of interest regarding use of town funds (chapter 12), and

D)    Failure to properly preside over a Town Council meeting.

THESE ARE ALL VIOLATIONS OF THE LISBON TOWN CHARTER!

Below, copied from the Town of Lisbon Town Charter, and a brief example of violations:

A) Sec. 2. 04; “(2) develop after consultation with the Town Manager, agenda for Council meetings, provided that no Councilor shall be denied the right to place an item on the agenda.”

Councilor Cote asked repeatedly that Mr. Bowie place on the agenda that the citizens of the Town of Lisbon have the right to a referendum vote on the town budget. And was repeatedly refused.

B) Sec. 2.04; “(3) after consultation with the Council, represent the Council in all dealings with the town Manager and with all statutory and advisory boards, commissions and committees in person or be delegation.”

I have been at many council meetings when Mr. Cote said that he had not been informed, or received e-mails from Mr. Bowie concerning matters of importance.

C) Chapter 12: conflict of interest. Regarding the Police Department, and many others. and

D)     I have been at many council meetings when Chair Bowie limited people in the audience 2 minutes or 5 minutes to speak, and to speak no more than twice. Yet in February 2009 he allowed someone in the audience to rant and rave against a councilor for 2 hours. And again in a subsequent meeting another person in the audience to do the same, for more than one-half hour.

It would appear that one must be a personal friend of Councilor Bowie to be able to go to the podium and “put on a show”, rant and rave against a fellow councilor.

And, no councilor nor the town manager, intervened, to put a stop to the tirade.

Respectfully submitted by Dot Fitzgerald

Shhh! It's A Secret

Our nation's secrets, stuck in a broken system

By Jack Goldsmith

Bob Woodward's "Obama's Wars" contains remarkable revelations about the inner workings of the administration's national security team and the development of its policy on Afghanistan and Pakistan. Equally remarkable is how much classified information is in these revelations -- so much classified information, in fact, that it calls into question the legitimacy of the presidential secrecy system.

The fireworks begin in Chapter 1, which recounts President Obama's post-election intelligence briefing from Mike McConnell, director of national intelligence in the Bush administration. Several highly classified programs and their code names are described. Subsequent chapters reveal classified reports, memorandums, conversations, programs, meetings and the like.

Woodward unquestionably received much of this information from senior government officials (just as he seemed to receive classified information from officials for his books about the Bush era). One cannot assume that the information came from the people being quoted or from the authors or recipients of documents; much of it could have come from second- and third-hand sources.

Lisbon HS Students Offer Community Service‏

Members of the Lisbon High School Class of 2011 donated apples to the Lisbon Area Christian Outreach program after a day long Community Service Day.  LACO is a non-profit organization sponsored by area churches in the Lisbon, Durham and Bowdoin Communities. The food pantry and clothing bank is located in the MTM building on School Street in Lisbon Falls and is open to the public Wednesdays 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Thursdays 10 a.m. to noon; and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.  Pictured (l-r) LHS senior, Tobey Harrington; Carol Day, LACO Coordinator; Deb Weddle, LHS Class of 2011 Advisor; LHS seniors Katie McManus and Virginia Wilson; LACO volunteers Pat Ringrose and Jim Daley.  FMI on the LACO program call 353-8019.  Photo by Monica Millhime.

Lisbon – Students at Lisbon High School participated in day of giving back to the Lisbon area and greater community on Wednesday, October 13.  Members of the freshman and senior classes volunteered their services during the PSAT testing schedule for LHS sophomores and juniors.  Benoit’s Orchard in Lewiston hosted 55 students who assisted with picking apples and cleaning the grounds of the orchard.  Seniors were treated to homemade donuts and cider and before the left purchased $300 worth of apples to donate to a local food charity, LACO (Lisbon Area Christian Outreach).

Another 25 senior students assisted at Good Sheppard Food  Bank in Auburn sorting products and helping with different tasks at the facility.

Beaver Park in Lisbon was the site for yet another 14 members of the Class of 2011 Community Service for the day.  Students worked together in teams clearing freshly cut brush from the cross country ski and snowmobile trails for the fast-approaching winter season.

Class of 2014 students, along with their freshman advisory teachers, provided assistance with a general clean-up of the school’s campus grounds and worked on a number of team building exercises.  In appreciation of their community efforts, breakfast was provided for freshman by parents, volunteers and faculty.

P. W. Sugg Boys Soccer Results (10/21/10)‏

Hall Dale's Bulldog's defeated the Greyhounds in a fierce match ending
at 0-4. Lisbon actually maintained possession of the ball well with
talent like that of Ryan Mulderig and Kyle Welsh and seemingly
dominated the entire game despite the misleading appearance of the
score. Though the game was one of the Greyhounds finest displays of
skill the Bulldogs were fortunate victors as Lisbon's record slips to
2 - 7. The Greyhounds have two practices to prepare for 3 days of
games next week, the first of which will be the last home game against
Monmouth on Tuesday.

P.W. SUGG GIRLS SOCCER RESULT 10/21‏

On Thursday 10/21, Lisbon Sugg middle school girls’ soccer tied 1 x1 with Hall Dale in an away game.
It was a difficult game for both teams, since the field was soaked and slippery. Greyhound dominated the possession of the ball most of first half and scored first, but Hall Dale tied the game with 30 second left in the first half.

Goalie Dakota Bisson impressed all the spectators even the other’s team coach by coming out of the goal at the right moment to get the ball from the opponent’s feet in many breakaways. Capitan Kailyn Hill once more played with great hustle and solidity, kicking several balls out from Lisbon’s defense line.

Greyhound’s offense line created many opportunities of goal, including Left Forward Katherine George, who had two very good shots blocked by the goalie, Right Forward Loren Grant who had two breakaways that she could not finalize, and Center Forward Ashley Conrad, who had several shots blocked and scored Lisbon’s only goal in a penalty kick.

Greyhounds played a very good game, showing great improvement since the last time they played against Hall Dale, which final score was Hall Dale 2 x 1 Lisbon, at home.

Lisbon Sugg middle school girls’ next game is Tuesday, 10/26 at 3:30 pm, a home game against Monmouth.

Here Is A Great Interpretation Of The Property Tax Situation

New Way To Bleed Dry The Taxpaying Home-owner: Predatory Property Tax Collection.

CAFR1 NATIONAL POST

PLEASE SHARE MY COMMENTS WITH YOUR EMAIL LIST:
Per the article copied below  "Predatory Property Tax Collection" here is the why government did this. The feds put it through last year at the recommendation of a few private associations that represented many local governments and it was the government that pushed forward to require the banks and mortgage companies to do the tax collection tied directly into the mortgage. (Quicker money for the local governments) Read the new mortgage documentation and the banks have been required to collect property taxation up front for the local government.

Government in most venues had to wait four (4) years to move forward with foreclosure for delinquent property taxes. Well now that they have assigned the banks to do the collection, the banks usually move on foreclosure in six months which gets a new head in the door to pay the same levied property taxes quicker.

I note that is a severe conflict of interest and that all who own a home should move on code enforcement against their local governments.

The property tax is for the benefit of the local government (the beneficiary)  of which in many venues when established the people securing their interests to protect themselves made sure there were strict time-lines and procedures required before a local government could try to grab your home for past due property taxes.

Well, it appears they have bypassed those restrictions with this one tactic. BUT, being that the local government is the beneficiary of that property tax collected through the mortgage they are also the primary responsible party by assignment or allowance for assignment as the underling direct beneficiary. In doing so or by participation, they have broken their own laws and statutes firmly put into place on their books that allowed them to collect property taxes in the first place.

In fact based on the damaged parties (number of home owners effected) the potential of claim value from these type of collection actions to bypass standing local government restrictions; statute; and law here for the direct benefit of those same local governments, it would be good grounds for suspension of that or any local governments charter (shut them down) for having participated for the purpose of financial gain.
