A shocking new video provides more reason for non-Muslims in the West to worry about the ongoing refugee crisis in the Middle East. A Muslim cleric and leader was recently explaining what was really going on with the mass Muslim migration when he got a bit too honest with the crowd.
“The infidels want us to be tormented. They want us to be humiliated. The Koran says: “The Jews and the Christians will never be pleased with you,” but we will never follow their religion. This dark night will be over, and soon, we will trample them underfoot, Allah willing.
Calling the change in
numbers after the first "NO TO LOW" vote a reduction in money is
patently untrue. Between the time the Council put the budget out to
vote and the rejection of that vote more money was given to the School.
The total money to the School didn't change the change was a reflection of the added money from the State.
I think this Council is working for the people. Are you aware this is the only Council that has actually reduced Lisbon's Taxes. I WOULD CALL THAT WORKING FOR THE PEOPLE, WOULDN'T YOU?
I think we should thank the five Councilors that stood firm against the
Schools "special interest group" and gave us a tax break.
The
Council had no choice but to commit taxes. There wasn't enough money in
the Undesignated Account to pay the County tax bill. If the tax bill
wasn't paid we would have incurred penalty and/or interest charges that
we couldn't afford. We were running the risk of becoming a deadbeat debtor and that would adversly affect our credit rating.
Mr.
Green and the School Board are the ones that saddled us with the 6 or 7
million dollar gym and track bond, it wasn't the Council that demanded
these projects. The School put themselves in this financial position and they are refusing to take responsibility for their actions.
In
conclusion I am glad to hear you think the School Budget has fat that
needs to be located. Maybe next year we can find the rest of that fat
and reduce our taxes again.
During this year’s School
Budget, the Town Council amended the recommendation of the School Department to
a much lower figure.This has caused a
great deal of controversy and hard feelings between the school people and the
Town Council.I am going to provide you
numerous facts in several articles and let you be the judge as to who caused
the problem and was it ethical and done properly.
First, I want to make it very
clear as to my position on this matter.I have stated since the beginning that all budgets have areas that could
be cut including the school budget.I
have also stated the method that the Town Council used was not proper.
I believe that I left off
with the Town Council denying the people the right to a Special Town
meeting.So the first election came
around and the people said “No, Too Low”.The Town Council turned around
and lowered their figures even more.This shows you how little regards the Town Council has for the wishes of
the people.Apparently, the Town Council
does not understand their roll in local government.They work for the people and not the other
way around.Previous Town Councils have
rewritten our Charter stripping the people of their right’s one by one in
Charter Changes.The people elected the
Town Council and I hope in November they remind Chairman Pesce of that.The real ring leaders of this movement are Councilor Metivier
and Chairman Pesce.
Next, the Town Council
claimed they had to commit taxes because the town was in a financial
situation.The Undesignated Fund is supposed
to sustain the town for three months.Also, the commitment does not have to be to the state until November 1st
or 30 days after the commitment.Apparently, the Undesignated Fund could
not be used.The Town Council
used the same figures they approved for the commitment.These are the same figures that the Town
Attorney denied the petition because they were not legally adopted.Denying the Special Town meeting because the School
Budget was not legally adopted; then turning right around and using the same
figures to do the commitment is wrong.If
the Town Council’s amended figures are not good enough to approve the Special
Town meeting then they are certainly not good enough for a commitment.Now the town is locked in on the amended
figures.
Think about this for a
minute.For years, the people have been
asking the Town Council to reduce our taxes and this year the Council did it;
but at what cost?Mr. Green and the
School Department are right in the middle of a multi millions dollar project to
construct a gym for the town.Is it really fair to saddle them with a
$600,000.00 (more a half million dollar) at the same time? The School Department has lost two key components
as a result Monica Millhime and Catherine Messier.These assets are going to be hard to replace.
The following Councilors are the ones
doing this to the School Department and then people:Councilors Pesce; Metivier; Bickford,
Brunelle and Crafts.Councilors Lunt and
Garrison both voted against doing this to the School Department.
Our Charter has been gutted so bad that the only
option the people have is to vote these people out in November.
There’s one story out of the CNN Republican debate, and that’s Carly Fiorina. The cable network expanded the ranks of GOP candidates to include her in the primetime debate, and she made the most of the opportunity. She did what no one thought was possible: She beat Donald Trump in the television game with her retort to his comments about her physical appearance. And she did more than that: She gave crisp, strong, visceral answers on questions regarding national security, abortion, and the economy. Conservative audiences have been thrilled at Fiorina’s appearances for months. Tonight she showed the nation that she is articulate, capable, passionate, and fearless. She displayed more thumos than many of the men on stage.
Treating this stupid media controversy like it deserves to be treated, Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump took to Twitter to wrist-flick away the latest bubbled, leftwing mainstream media frenzy. Early Saturday morning The Donald tweeted, “Am I morally obligated to defend the president every time somebody says something bad or controversial about him? I don’t think so!”

WASHINGTON (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson says Islam is antithetical to the Constitution, and he doesn’t believe that a Muslim should be elected president.
You would think that a groundbreaking TV show for women hosted by women would do its best every day to respect and uplift women.
Instead, ABC’s “The View” — originally created by veteran journalist Barbara Walters to represent women “of different backgrounds, different generations and different opinions” — has devolved into an ear-splitting bickerfest of elite divas who scoff and sneer at those who do not enjoy their celebrity privilege or share their left-wing ideological values.
We have all been complaining about Lisbon taxes for years. This year our Councilors made real cuts to our budget and those cuts are reflected in this years tax bill.
The following is MY RESPONSE to "YOU BE THE JUDGE"
I feel its unfair to chastise our Councilors for not knowing the exact amount of fat in the School Budget. No one knows the exact amount of fat in the School Budget. If we knew where and how much fat there was we probably would have already eliminated the excess.
Let me get this straight; It appears
you are suggesting we should never cut the School Budget unless we have
had an expensive "Cost Analysis" and a more expensive " Impact Study". Isn't that counter productive? We could be spending more on studies than we save in cost reduction.
You are correct it does cost $3,000
dollars for each of the School Budget Votes but it isn't the Council
that is rejecting the duly submitted Budget. It is the school's "Special
Interest Group" (SIG) that is voting down the budget.The Councilors
already gave their approval of the budget by sending it out to vote. The SIG'S rejection vote is triggering a new election not the Council's approval vote. It appears the SIG doesn't want to take responsibility for their "NO" vote.
By using the Special Council
Meeting clause in this fashion, you are attempting to circumvent the
Council's power over the School Budget. This was never the intention of
the Charter framers.
I agree dirty politics have
occurred, we saw a good example of it at the last Council/School Board
workshop.The workshop where one of the SchoolBoard members threw a temper tantrum when he couldn't get his way.
Recently the Council compromised and gave the School more
of what they wanted. It will be interesting to see if it is enough to
satisfy Lisbon School's greedy little "Special Interest Group'. Respectfully Joe Hill

directive to the School Department to cut $600,000.00.According
to Councilor Metivier and Chairman Pesce, the determining factor was that
because the school’s budget was twice the amount as the Municipal budget then the
School Department should cut twice the amount of the Municipal budget. This was the ONLY determining factor because the Town Council
did not perform any cost analysis or perform an impact study to determine how
cutting over a half a million dollars would affect the efficiency of the School
Department.Acts of this nature are not only dangerous but
irresponsible and should never be done.Because of this irresponsibility by the
Town Council, the Town has been forced to have three elections counting the
next one, at a cost to the taxpayers of approximately $3,000.00 per, and the
impact is still unknown.
The residents of Lisbon
realized the dangerous situation the Town Council had placed the School
Department in and formed a Petition Committee to submit for a Special Town
Meeting to correct this injustice.The Petition
Committee submitted the petition on a Wednesday, thinking they could use the
LJAL Tournament and the Transfer Station on Saturday to gather the over 600
signatures necessary; however, the Town Clerk did not accept the petition and
so the committee had to correct it and did so. The petition was submitted the same day but
the Town Clerk stated it had to be review by the Town Attorney to make sure it
was proper.The Town Attorney did not render a decision until Sunday after LJAL
was over and the Transfer Station was closed.This left the Committee just three days to gather over 600 signatures.However, the Petition Committee had a legal
review stating the petition was in order.The Town Clerk issued the blank petitions to the committee on Sunday
morning to gather signatures.This
Petition Committee pulled off a miracle and gathered over 700 signatures and
turned the completed petitions in on time.
This caused a problem for Chairman Pesce and
the Town Council; so once again the Town asked the Town Attorney for a legal
review.I fail to understand, if the petition was already
ruled proper and only needed signatures to make it sufficient, why a second
legal review?The Town Attorney’s legal review determined the petition
insufficient and it died.The
lawyer determined that it was not proper to have Special Town Meeting prior to
the people approving the School Budget at an election.The
fact that the Town Council had amended the figures submitted by the School
Department and those figures were going to be voted on by the people irrelevant.This does no pass the common sense test.Think about it, the Special Town Meeting
would be used to resolve the difference in the two figures prior to going for
vote by the people.What possible good does holding a Special
Town Meeting after the people have already approved the School Budget by a vote
make?The problem here is
that the people followed the Charter and the Town Council and the Town Attorney
denied the people the right for a Special Town Meeting to resolve the
difference between the School Department and the Town Council prior to the
election.As a result the town has been
forced to hold three elections.Eliminating the people’s voice in this process is not the intent of our Charter.It makes the Town Council a
dictatorship in this process which is absolutely wrong in a democracy.
Poor Hillary Clinton… boo hoo. She just can’t seem to catch a break. I mean these mean-old reporters, like CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, keep asking her hard questions. They say things like, “Name one of your accomplishments as Secretary of State,” and ask questions like “Did you wipe your server of data?” It’s just not fair! Why won’t anyone ask her questions like the ones Katie Couric, Jimmy Fallon and Jon Stewart asked? Why won’t they ask her about her pant suits, or being married to Bill, or what kind of music she likes?
Megyn Kelly discussed with her panel the Muslim question Trump got during his townhall tonight. One of the panelists seemed to entertain the idea that Obama could be a Muslim…but Kelly shut her down saying emphatically Obama is NOT a Muslim, that we know that!
Look, I’ve not hid the fact that I do believe Obama is a Muslim. The fact that he says he’s a Christian is phony boloney. And I don’t believe any of this because I don’t like him.
One common criticism of billionaire businessman and presidential candidate Donald Trump is that he far too often speaks in vague generalities and rarely offers specifics about where he stands on the issues.
That is no longer the case, at least regarding his stance on gun rights and the Second Amendment, as Trump just released his official policy position on his campaign website.
Guy and Katie have noted the rather alarming collapse Hillary Clinton has seen with one of the main cohorts of her 2016 coalition: women. The former first lady has dropped an astonishing 29 points with Democratic women since July, falling from 71 percent to 42 percent. One of the main reasons why this group is running away from the candidate who could possibly make history by becoming the first female president of the United States is the email server. Women (shocker!) don’t believe Clinton is telling the truth–and that she did “something wrong” when she decided to set up this elaborate system, which by the way, was vulnerable to hacking. Clinton’s miserable messaging strategy in handling this issue has only exacerbated the former problem, which explains the dive Clinton has undergone in the trustworthiness and honesty categories (via Patricia Murphy/Daily Beast) [emphasis mine]:
A new poll by Morning Consult taken after Wednesday's debate shows that Donald Trump's lead is strong, but that Carly Fiorina has jumped substantially--from three percent to 10. A plurality of respondents also said that they felt as though Fiorina won the debate, followed by Trump, Carson, and Rubio.
As for who voters would pick in the actual election, Trump continues to lead the field with 36 percent, followed by Carson with 12 and Fiorina with 10.
Last night, the Town Council
held a Special Town Council meeting to discuss Charter Changes.It was a very short meeting and there were
only a few people there.Of those
attending, Chairman Pesce kept the discussion confined to the current Charter
Changes proposed.
The “no limit” terms were
discussed and the Amendment pertaining to the Planning Board were also
discussed.
Under Council Orders,
Resolutions and Ordinances –
1.Charter Amendment 1-7 passed by a vote of 5-0
with the exception of Amendments 1, 3 and 4 which were 4-1 with Councilor Lunt
voting NO.Councilors Crafts and
Garrison were absent.
2.Warrant for
November 3, 2015 – The Council approved by a vote of 5-0.

The Internal Revenue Service revoked the nonprofit status of the veterans benefit organization that hosted and sold tickets to a foreign policy speech by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump aboard a retired U.S. battleship, The Associated Press has learned. The group’s endorsement of Trump at the event also could raise legal problems under campaign finance laws.
Trump’s campaign did not respond to questions from the AP about whether it was aware that the IRS had revoked the nonprofit status of the Veterans for a Strong America, which sold tickets to Trump’s event for up to $1,000 as a fundraiser. The IRS issued its decision Aug. 10, citing the group’s failure to file any tax returns for three consecutive years, according to IRS records reviewed by the AP.
Last night Lisbon TownCouncilors offered Lisbon School an Olive branch.They compromised and agreed to raise this years School Budget to 15,038,410.
In another vote the Councilors also agreed to let the School use $1623 dollars from the capitol reserve account to buy cameras. Its now time for the School to also
compromise and agree with this increase and advise their "no to low"
followers to vote "YES" on the Sept. 22nd vote. Compromise is a two way street.
We don't need to spend another $3,000 dollars for another election.
Since the killing of 32-year-old Kate Steinle in the sanctuary city of San Francisco earlier this year by a previously deported, seven-time felony illegal alien, sanctuary city policies have come under heavy scrutiny from the American public and Congress. Now, sanctuary cities have found another critic: Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson.
"It is counterproductive to public safety to have this level of resistance to working with our immigration enforcement personnel," Johnson said during a speech in San Francisco yesterday. "It is simply, in my judgement, not acceptable to have no policy of cooperation with immigration enforcement. We're all interested in getting criminals off the streets."
Great, but what will the federal government do about it? Considering the Obama White House has repeatedly failed to condemn sanctuary cities and repeatedly refused to address the Kate Steinle case directly, the answer is unfortunately nothing at all. In the past, Johnson has been hesitant to openly criticize sanctuary city policies and said in July during congressional testimony that the polices were out of the control of Homeland Security, but that he hopes local law enforcement will work with the feds to get violent criminals off the streets.

Council changed the fee for the fourth violation from $850.00 to $500.00 to
comply with state law.

Cemetery Fees – This was approved by the Council 7-0 but is subject to change.

Schedule Cemetery Fees (First Reading) – The Council tabled this discussion
because they did not have all the information necessary to render a decision.

Reserve Request – The Council approved this request for $1,623.70 for cameras
by a vote of 7-0.
6.Seniors Plus
Agreement – The Council approved the Town Manager to sign this agreement by a
vote of 7-0.

Under Other Business:The Town Manager announced that she did not
get a chance to review the fuel prices.The Finance Director did not discuss the Financial Report.The Department Heads Reports were discussed and
the Council decided to hear a couple reports at each Town Council meetings

Executive Session to discuss acquisition or disposition of real property or
economic development and consultation with Legal.

Our Muslim-In-Chief Barack Obama has announced that the U.S. will accept an additional 10,000 Syrian (so-called) ‘refugees’ during the next fiscal year, which begins on Oct. 1. This would increase the total number of refugees entering the United States in 2016 up to 75,000.
