READ WHAT YOU VOTE FOR, (OR AGAINST)‏

DEAR VOTERS  AND RESIDENTS OF THE TOWN OF LISBON;

BEWARE OF WHAT YOU WILL BE VOTING FOR, OR AGAINST

                          ON NOVEMBER 8, 2011.

             READ YOUR BALLOTS CAREFULLY!

UNDER WARRANT ARTICLES, QUESTION 1

Note: this ordinance has been on our books for a while, but

no one on the Council and even town Manager Eldridge

knew anything about it.

Watch the Council meeting on Channel 7 at 7 p.m. this Friday.

Eldridge speechless for the first time ever ! ! !

Question 1

Article II. Town Council

Sex. 2.07. Action Requiring an Ordinance

Amend by adding the underlined text as follows:

       In addition to other acts required by law or by specific provision

of this Charter to be done by ordinance which (1) adopt or amend an

administrative code, or establish, alter or abolish any town department,

office or agency; (2) provide for a fine or other penalty or establish a

rule or regulation for violation of which a fine or other penalty is imposed;

(3) regulate the rate at which a business or establishment may charge for it's services;

(4) convey or lease real or personal property of the Town except tax

acquired property; or (5) amend or repeal any ordinance previously adopted.

Acts other than those referred to in this section may be accomplished by ordinance,

order, or resolve.

Why would the Town, or any town for that matter, be allowed to "regulate the rate

at which a business or establishment may charge for it's services?

Under this ordinance the Town can regulate what your barber or beautician

charges for your haircut, color or perm.

The Town can regulate what your dentist charges to clean your teeth.

The Town can regulate what a restaurant charges for your meal.

Is this how and who you want to run your town?

THINK VERY CAREFULLY WHEN YOU GO INTO THAT

      VOTING BOOTH AND CAST YOUR BALLOT

              ON NOVEMBER 8, 2011 ! ! ! ! !
